I provide evidence of the emergence in their work of a distinctly transnational approach to literary writing (narrative in particular), founded on a creative way of addressing questions of estrangement, the body, and memory. I consider the work of three authors, who have yet to be fully acknowledged in the Italian literary landscape: the Italophone writers Jarmila Očkayová (1955-present; Italo- Slovakian) and Ingrid Beatrice Coman (1971-present; Italo-Romanian living in Malta), and Marisa Madieri (1938-1996; Italo-Hungarian from Istria), whose native language was Italian. My analysis focuses on the stylistic, thematic, and structural elements that Očkayová, Coman and Madieri employ to engage with and

  • AC Milan V PSV Eindhoven PRESS KIT
AC Milan v PSV Eindhoven PRESS KIT Giuseppe Meazza, Milan Wednesday, 19 October 2005 - 20:45 CET Group E - Matchday 3 The pairing of AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven gives the Dutch club an immediate opportunity to gain revenge for their elimination in last season's UEFA Champions League semi-final. This Group E game finds PSV needing to regroup after a 3-0 loss at Fenerbahçe SK, while AC Milan appear on course to reach the knockout stages after taking four points from their opening two matches. Semi-final rematch •Last season's semi-final was an epic. Goals from Andriy Shevchenko and Jon Dahl Tomasson put Milan in pole position after the first leg at home, but PSV had played well enough to suggest the tie was far from over. •And that proved to be the case in Eindhoven as PSV attacked from the outset in the second leg. Ji-Sung Park and Phillip Cocu scored to level the tie at 2-2, only for Milan to regain the advantage when Massimo Ambrosini scored in the first minute of added time. Although Cocu levelled the tie at 3-3 in the following minute, Milan reached the final on the away goals rule. First meeting •The clubs also met in the first season of UEFA Champions League football in 1992/93. Milan won 2-1 in Eindhoven courtesy of Frank Rijkaard and Marco Simone goals before Romario pulled one back for PSV. Milan won 2-0 at home, Simone scoring twice, to complete their group games with a 100 per cent record.

I was 10 then, and I’m 28 now, and I still feel tremors of childlike excitement as we approach the 2018 World Cup. My life has always been measured in World Cups. In 2002, I would imagine where I would be when the next World Cup came around. The difference between 14 and 18 was massive. But, as the years fly by, World Cups seem to be my only measure of time.
