l Rayyan Municipality continues to implement a campaign to remove all violations from farms within Aits jurisdiction, as part of a comprehensive nation- wide plan of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) in this regard. The campaign is being conducted in co-operation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Ad- ministrative Development, Labour and Social Aff airs, and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), the MME has said in a statement. The campaign has resulted in the elimination of a large number of violations over the past few days, including the unlicensed construction of warehouses, shops, labourers’ accommodation, garages and workshops. In addition, a large quantity of waste materials, debris as well as abandoned vehicles, equipment and trucks were re- moved, the statement noted. The campaign targets the removal of all violations from 16 farms within the municipality, which include various il- legal commercial activities, construction of storehouses and workers’ accommodation, the use of agricultural land for non-farming purposes and non-compliance with own- ership and licensing terms. The MME stressed that the campaign would continue un- til all violations are corrected. The campaign comes within the framework of the MME’s keenness to amend the conditions of farms in order to ben- efi t from them to achieve food security in the country. Al Rayyan Municipality has called on all owners of farms, companies and individuals to co-operate with it in imple- menting the campaign, and not to exploit farms illegally. It has also highlighted to them the need to remove all vio- lations in order to avoid legal accountability. The municipality has also thanked all farms and compa- nies that have co-operated with it so far.

QIIB names winners of fi rst summer off er draw

IIB announced that three win- Qners were se- lected during the fi rst draw of its special off er for the summer of 2019, which allows its Visa (credit and debit) cardholders to win cash prizes when using their cards within and outside Qatar between August 1 and September 25. Each of the following winners, Ali Saif al-Fadala, Abdulla Ali al-Maadheed and Suheer Mohamed al-Kordy, received a cash prize of QR10,000. The winners were chosen through an electronic draw in the presence of QIIB offi cials and under the supervision of a representative from the Quality Licence and Market Con- trol Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Many cash prizes and the fi nal prize still await custom- ers, who may be lucky to win one of the weekly prizes of QR10,000 each once they spend a minimum of QR100 through their Visa cards (credit or debit) inside or outside of Qatar, QIIB has said in a statement. The total customer spend that entitles a customer to win the QR100,000 prize shall not be less than QR20,000 dur- ing the off er period. QIIB announced its summer off er in recognition of its customers and in order to provide them with the best off ers and opportunities. This off er provides QIIB customers of Visa credit and debit cardholders with an opportunity to win weekly prizes of QR10,000 and a fi nal grand prize of QR100,000. As part of the off er, every payment made using QIIB Visa cards inside Qatar, amounting to QR100, provides the cus- tomer one chance to win prizes on off er. In the case of payment made outside of Qatar using QIIB Visa cards, each transaction provides a customer with two chances. A highlight of the off er is that every time a customer uses his/her Visa card (credit or debit), his/her chances of win- ning one of the prizes increase. There is no minimum or maximum limit set on card us- age for customers to enter the draw. Any payment made by Visa (credit or debit) cards from QIIB, subject to the terms set out in the off er, will automati- cally qualify for the draw, without any specifi c action re- quired from the part of the customer.
