Watch over your heart with all diligence, Tune Up for Worship!! for from it flow forth the springs of life.” Have you noticed the sunsets lately? I am Proverbs 4:23 writing this near the end of March and the sunsets have been just beautiful. That is just one In many places throughout the Bible and in many ways, God makes it clear that the heart is the command center of our thoughts and desires that drive our speech and actions. aspect of the vast and wonderful creation that Jesus tells us in Matt 12:34, “For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.” He tells God has established. Let's think about all that for us again in Matt 15:19, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adulteries, a minute. First there was God. He has no fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.” God reveals through the Prophet Jeremiah (Jer beginning and no end. Genesis 1:1 starts with 17:9), “The heart is deceitful above all else, it is desperately wicked (sick with sin); who can “In the beginning....”. But that was not the beginning of God, it was the beginning of know it?” And, King David cries out to God in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O the earth. The universe is vast and unknowable. The universe is the part of God's God, and renew an upright spirit within me.” With just these few Scripture mentioned, we already see the wisdom of Proverbs 4:23. Living in a fallen world of sin and death, we really creation that we are aware of. There may be more, we just don't know! The earth is a must exercise “all diligence” when it comes to the things we expose our hearts to and allow tiny speck in the universe. But God created the earth for us!! Wow!! Second, in the into our hearts. The world around us continually entices and tempts us to entertain and vastness of the universe, God created a beautiful place for us, then created us! As an embrace corrupt and deceitful ways of thinking about God, our fellow man and the world engineer, I am just totally amazed at the intricacy of God's creation. The way around us. The dark powers and principalities of this world scheme and move to conform us everything fits together and compliments other features of creation is awe inspiring. I to sin and draw us into darkness and its destructiveness. Temptation can be powerful and if we are not careful about what we expose our hearts to, we can quickly be drawn into its grip just cannot understand how anyone could believe that the earth and all living things, and find ourselves in the bondage of sin whether it be pornography and all forms of sexual from the molecule level to the largest living thing, could just be a happy accident. To sin, drugs and alcohol, gossip and slander or even the deceptive horrors of pride, self-pity the mathematician, the odds of that happening cannot be computed. It is impossible. and self-righteousness. Temptation can be an all-out frontal assault or it may be subtle, Romans 1:20 says the power of God is clearly seen in His creation and we are without sneaking in the backdoor, but we can be certain of one thing, it is always out there and excuse for not acknowledging Him as the Supreme One and Only One. As a farm gunning for us. As parents, we must consider the importance of exercising all diligence over boy, nature lover, engineer I express my gratitude to Him very often for His beautiful our hearts and over our homes. What are we allowing into our homes and into the life of our family? Do we consider the impact on our hearts of movies, TV programming or the music creation. And that beautiful creation tells me the rest of the Bible is true when it come we like to hear? Listen carefully to the words our daughters are saying as they sing along to considering my sin and my need for a Savior. Praise God for creation! Praise God with their favorite singers. What language and thoughts are repeated by our sons as they for salvation!! emulate an actor or TV character? Do we take time to consider how vulnerable we are to Pastor Mike temptation? What we expose the heart to, impacts and molds the heart. The heart will pick and choose from the things it is exposed to and make determinations on what to embrace. What are we exposing the hearts of our children to? What are we allowing them to embrace and how is it shaping their lives for good? ~Pastor Dan ASSOCIATIONAL HYMN SING At Harmony Grove Baptist Church Miss a Sunday at church? ♫Notes From the Church Office♫ Truman State University We are finishing up the month of March and preparing for ministries in April. Easter is coming up in April and play practice has been going on as we prepare to present a play on Baptist Student Union Mission Trip to Minneapolis Palm Sunday in both the morning and evening services. There will be the play presentation along with special music on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. We will also be having special services the week before Easter and the times of services will be a little different on Easter Sunday as we begin with Easter Sunrise Service that day. It is a special day that you will not want to miss as we celebrate resurrection Sunday. Please remember to post the April calendar in your newsletter where you can see it and keep up with all the ministry opportunities of our church. The dates and times are all there for you to see so you won’t miss anything. It is a blessing to be involved in what God is doing through our church family.

“What has God been doing in your life this week?” That is a question that is asked of us at our Sunday evening services each week. We hear things like someone being blessed by their Sunday school class, how someone sang a song that touched their heart, or a new baby that was born. One thing that we all love to hear is of someone coming to know Christ. It is an opportunity to share testimonies about God’s presence and actions in our lives. It is a great encouragement to all of us to hear these testimonies.

One thing I thought about this week was how it blesses me when people stop by the church office. Sometimes it’s someone coming in to pick up a bulletin, leave something for the tiger pack room, add a prayer request to our list, or just to say hello as they pass by, but it shows the closeness of the family of God. We want to be about doing the Lord’s work as we use the gifts and abilities that He has given us. One time a worker for the Helping Hand Ministry stopped by and they weren’t even working that day. The reason they said they stopped by was that they just wanted to come to the church because they “felt close to God” here. What a blessing it was to hear that! We talked for a few minutes about the presence of the Holy Spirit and the comfort He gives.

As I thought about the presence of the Holy Spirit I wondered how many people Pastor Dan, Pastor Josh and Joseph Hite were able to serve on this trip. The know that one or more of our pastors, along with anyone else who wants to join them, goes students served at Feed My Starving Children, Salvation Army Harbor Lights from room to room early every Sunday morning before anyone else arrives to pray over each Homeless Shelter, and Spring Bible study class that will meet for Sunday school. They pray for God to guide each teacher, leader, and member. After that, the pastors and leaders meet in the pastor’s office to pray House. On April 7, mark before any of the services take place. We are thankful for a praying church. The last part of your calendars to be here and Isaiah 56:7 says, “For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.” hear about this mission trip

We hope you “felt close to God” in our church this week. See you Sunday and don’t from the students at Truman forget Sunday night because we want to know, “What has God been doing in your life this State. Immediately following week?” Pam Blaine this service and presentation, we will be having a carry-in fellowship meal.
