The Dumping Ground CBBC (2015-2021) Executive Producer on this award-winning children’s drama. Overseeing the 24 x 30 series. Shooting in studio and on location in Newcastle, along with an overseas shoot in Crete.

Leading the team and devising editorial strategy for all aspects of the brand, across TV, iPlayer, website, social media, YouTube, animation, games, marketing and publicity for this award-winning comedy drama.

Main duties: Drive story and script development and run story conferences; Oversee recruitment of HODs, directors, writers and cast; Sign off on budget, schedule, risk assessment, interactive content and post-production; Brand ambassador at BBC Children’s HQ; Lead ‘TDG’/BBC writersroom Writer’s Shadow Scheme; Run ‘TDG’ New Director’s scheme; Primary point of contact for all safeguarding issues; Oversaw production of an overseas special, shot in Crete.

Casualty (2014-2015) BBC Wales Producer on this long running medical drama. Managing all aspects of production on over 25 episodes, including; stunts, CGI and SFX, and sign off on scripts, budget, schedule and risk assessments. Episode writers include Matt Barry, Kelly Jones, Mark Catley and Paul Matthew Thompson. Directors include Joss Agnew, David Innes Edwards, Steve Hughes, Sean Gleeson, Steve Brett and Lee Haven Jones.

Duties have included setting up production of a one-off special shot entirely on location in Bucharest (July-Dec 2014), as well as mentoring a trainee producer attached to the show. In 2014/15,

Father Brown (2012-2013) BBC Drama Produced series 2 of this 10 x 45 drama series, set in the 1950s and based on the G.K. Chesterton short stories. Shot on location in the Cotswolds. Series stars Mark Williams and Tom Chambers and is created by Tahsin Guner and Rachel Flowerday.

Episode writers included: Jude Tindall, Dominique Moloney, Paul Matthew Thompson. Directors: Matt Carter, Paul Gibson, Ian Barber. Doctors (2012) BBC Drama Producer on this 221 x 30 drama series for BBC1. Oversaw script development, prep, production and post-production on my episodes. Tutored on 2012 BBC Writer’s Academy, with John Yorke. Executive Producer: Will Trotter.

River City (2009-2010) BBC Scotland Producer on series 3 and 4 of the 52 x 60 returning drama. Responsible for production and post-production on several episode blocks, managed script editors, directors and crew and signed off on schedule, casting and compliance. Exec Producer: Gaynor Holmes.

Half Moon Investigations CBBC (2008-2009) Set up and produced new 13 x 30 in-house comedy drama series for CBBC, based on the best-selling novel by Eoin Colfer and shot on location in Glasgow. Signed off on scripts, budget, schedule, casting, publicity and Red Button extras. Appointed and managed directors and crew. Doctors (2005-2008) BBC Drama Produced the winning `Best Single Episode’ at both the 2009 and 2007 British Soap Awards. Tutored for BBC Writer’s Academy with John Yorke, and trained novice directors for BBC Drama Director’s Academy.

EastEnders (2003-2004) BBC Drama Produced over 50 episodes of the show. Completed BBC’s Single Camera Drama Directing course.

Development

Development Producer Greenroom Entertainment (2010-2011) Built new slate of drama and comedy drama projects for Children’s. Commissioned writers included Joe Williams, Chris Wooding and Nick Malmholt. Company credits include the 2011 Paramount Pictures feature, ‘Killing Bono’, starring Ben Barnes and Robert Sheehan, and 6 X 30’ BBC3 comedy drama series, ‘Off the Hook’, starring Jonathan Bailey and James Buckley. Executive Producer: Simon Maxwell.

Development Writer (2005) Worldwide Drama, Fremantle Media Wrote treatments and pitches, and scripted and cut promos for key drama brands and genres across the Fremantle group, with focus on promoting Latin American telenovela within Fremantle Europe. Developed a version of German broadcaster RTL’s prison drama series, ‘Behind Bars’, for CBS.

Head of Development BBC Scotland Drama (2000-2003) Managed development slate of series (MONARCH OF THE GLEN, 55 DEGREES NORTH, SEA OF SOULS, 2000 ACRES OF SKY, TINSEL TOWN), serials (REAL MEN) and singles (FABULOUS BAGEL BOYS) for all BBC channels and for BBC Films. Pitched projects to Jane Tranter, negotiated development contracts, and managed script editors. Devised RIVER CITY with Stephen Greenhorn, winning the bid to make it BBC Scotland’s regional soap. Helped coordinate Migrations, a training scheme for writers from Scotland’s ethnic minorities.

Script Editor (1999-2000) BBC Scotland Drama Script edited TV series, serials and singles and developed movie projects for BBC Films.

Secret Lives (1998-1999) Working within a story team to set up and storyline a daily serial for MTV3 in Finland.
