Radiographers' Association of Maharashtra Society of Indian X125 National Online PowerPoint Presentation Competition for Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology Students Venue: Date: 31st July 2020 to 8th November 2020 (Every Sunday) Time: 2.00 pm to 6.00pm Organised by Radiographers’ Association of Maharashtra Under auspices of Society of Indian Radiographers Introduction On the occasion of 125th Anniversary of Discovery of X-rays Radiographers’ Association of Maharashtra had planned to organise a National Conference at Goa. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic organising committee has decided to cancel the said conference and decided to organize a virtual competition for student Radiographers to celebrate this auspicious day of Radiographers. ‘X125’, The National PowerPoint Presentation Competition for Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology Students will be held between 31/07/2020 to 08/11/2020 (Every Sunday) on Facebook Live & YouTube Live from 2.00pm to 6.00pm. Objective To Celebrate 125th Anniversary of Discovery of X-rays. To promote education amongst the Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology Students. To facilitate the involvement of Medical Imaging Technology Institutes. The objective of the PowerPoint presentation contest is for students to demonstrate the skills necessary to develop and present a PowerPoint presentation in a professional manner. Students who participate in this contest will develop and demonstrate public speaking skills using a PowerPoint presentation as an illustration to add emphasis to their presentation. Eligibility Students of Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology are eligible to participate. Internship Students of Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology are eligible to participate. Any number of participants from an Institute may participate. Participants have to upload the copy of their Institute Identity Card. Guidelines: The entire contest will be held on virtual platform. The Presentation Language will be English only. Any topic related Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology is allowed. Change of topic is not allowed after 26th July 2020. The presentation time allotted to each participant is 10-12 minutes The participants are required to design and create their own PowerPoint presentation An orientation session will be conducted on Facebook Live on 31st July 2020 (Time will be informed through email) Judging criteria: Presentations are judged for originality and creativity, organisation of content, oral, presentation, knowledge of the material, clarity of artwork (charts, graphs, and slides) and overall presentation. During the presentation, contestants will be given 10-12 minutes for their presentation. The judges will assess a penalty for speaking over or under time. The participants will give their presentation in the same order as listed in the presentation schedule. The judges may make an exception for unusual circumstances A number of judges online & offline will evaluate the oral presentation based on the presenter’s explanation, the content, dialogue with the presenter, and delivery of the presentation. The Judging team’s decision shall be final. The decision of the organizers with regard to interpretation of rules and regulations will be final and binding. In addition organizers reserve the right to change these rules and regulations at their sole discretion should this become necessary Rewards and Prizes Top performers will be awarded with cash prize. Top 50 performers will be provided with a certificate of excellence. A certificate of participation will be given to all participants. Prize details will be informed in orientation session on Facebook live on 31st July 2020 (Time will be informed through email). For presentations make sure you have the following: A laptop or desktop with a webcam and mic. A recent version of Chrome or Firefox. A strong internet connection. Just like Skype, you must have a strong internet connection for it to work well. If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable instead of using Wi-Fi. We recommend wearing earbuds or headphones to prevent audio echoes. If you don’t have a laptop or desktop, then you can join on your phone. But the experience is usually best on a laptop/desktop. On Android, we recommend the Chrome browser. On iOS, you must use Safari. Joining for the presentation: When the time comes, follow these steps to enter the broadcast studio: 1) The host will provide you with a link before the presentation on your email. 2) Click the link and you’ll be taken to their broadcast studio. 3) Allow the studio to access your camera and mic. 4) Make sure you have the correct camera and mic selected. 5) Enter a display name. Use your actual name. Then enter the studio. The host will be informed that you’ve arrived. You won’t be part of the broadcast until the host decides to add you in. The page will update to let you know when you’ve been added. Then everyone will be able to see and hear you. Registration Registration will close on Saturday 26th July 2020. Entries to only 125 participants to be given on first come first basis. Registration fees is Rs.125/-. Registration fees will not be refunded for any reasons.
