It was a close run thing however as Terry was only marginally behind.

The multi-code word find closed out the first quarter, lots of heads were down chasing the lead but there was no clear winner.

The second quarter was a goal scoring feast with 10 goals scored, would have been 11 but one hit the post! Catherine and Colin H as the most accurate contenders but they alone continued into a sudden death shoot- out with Colin’s accuracy winning by millimetres.

The second half opened slowly with many concerned looks but all players had scoring shots. Terry was in fine form with a perfect 9 out of 9 but even then he was only marginally clear of Gavan and Bruce on 8, Catherine on 7 and Geoff, Anne and Lyle on 6. At three quarter time it was still anyone’s game.

The last quarter ran longer than expected with the leading scorers being Gavan and Helen A on 6 apiece but Christine, Lyle, Terry and Bruce scored 5 each, Geoff and Catherine 4½. Time on was added after the bell and at the final siren it was a draw between high scorers Gavan and Terry.

Premiers - Gavan and Terry 14 Bruce 13 Catherine 11½ Lyle 11 Geoff 10½ Helen A and Christine 10 Anne 8 Colin H 7 Alex 6 Mitchell 5½ Margaret 5 Helen D 4½ Sue and Colin B 4 Peter 2 Wooden Spoon - Jan 1
