IAYT Accredited Yoga Therapy Certification Program SUSI HATELY B.Sc. Kinesiology, C-IAYT Harnessing the intelligence of your body, the knowing in your heart and power of your brain so you can truly help yourself and your clients heal and recover. You are here for one simple reason . You know that recovery and healing are possible. You have either seen someone or been that someone who has experienced persistent symptoms of some sort, and have used that experience to grow. And whether you were the witness or the one in the experience, you saw clear as day that Life happens “for you”, not “to you”. That the “curve balls” that come your way are opportunities to grow, to evolve to step into a fuller version of yourself. Knowing this, you want to integrate your professional training as a yoga teacher and/or medical professional with therapeutic aspects of yoga. You feel there is a gap in your learning and knowledge and you are hungry for more. You want to elevate your confidence and credibility...but there is more. You value mastery. You value this idea of expanding what is to be human and what is possible for you, your clients, your life. You’re feeling stuck at an impasse in life, and you know there’s stuff you need to and have to work on. There’s something niggling at the corners of your mind that could get you feeling and doing better. You know it won’t necessarily be easy, and that you have to be a big part of this process yourself. Well, I have just the person and program for you. It’s Susi Hately and her programs with Functional Synergy. Are you ready to step up your game? - Josh; Functional Synergy Graduate About The Functional Synergy Program When Susi created the Functional Synergy Yoga Therapy certification program her intention was to offer a process that bridges that provide both superior technical training and with the real world practicalities of creating a business that matters, serves many and is, quite simply, excellent. One which blended Woo and Science as well as Logic and Intuition. One that wasn’t so much about demystifying the body and mind, as it was embodying its mysteries. A training that was “rubber hits the road”, with immediate applications to foster growth and development. One where trainees could watch, monitor and grow their skills consistently and effectively, so that well before the training ended they felt confident and clear about their capabilities. Susi wanted to equip her trainees so well that when they completed the training, not only were they confident in their ability, they also had a sustainable business - unique to them, built on their values, and based on their schedule. A business that didn’t deplete them, but rather vitalized them and served their clients well. The program has been designed to include a small class size with engaged and motivated trainees who are ready for such an amazing education and, ultimately, serving clients to recover and heal. When you graduate, you will be certified as a Yoga Therapist and you will also be able to submit your certificate for C-IAYT status with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). About The Functional Synergy Program (Con'd) As well, within Functional Synergy, you will have access to additional resources on improving your skill, as well as refining and uplevelling your business, taking your technical skill and income to the next level. The people who love and excel with our program are those who recognize that at the foundation of recovery and healing are Courage and Love. They value mastery, evolution and exploring what is actually possible for humans. Including themselves. If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, we encourage you to join us. When we have looked at industry at other programs which certify yoga therapists, we see a lot of value in what they provide. Our focus is to equip our graduates to be both highly skilled and able to make a living. The statistics from the IAYT are that yoga therapists typically earn $10 K per year as yoga therapists. Our graduates far exceed that with many earning over $50 K annually and some earning over $100 K annually, all while not burning out or not getting depleted. We want to be a model of what is possible. Combining Science with Woo, Logic with Intuition, and Great technical skill with Heart felt and sustainable, inclusive business practices. We Believe: 1. Healing is possible. People can get well again, no matter the condition. 2. The body is a barometer. There is power in owning this understanding. 3. We love science, research and evidence AND it has its limitations. Evidence is all about xx% of people with abc symptoms benefit from a certain protocol. How do you know if your client is in that xx% that benefited? Do you just “throw the protocol at the condition” and hope and pray it will work? That isn’t really all that meaningful or efficient – so I don’t support that notion. 4. Our results exponentially grow as we become more present. When we as teachers/professionals are present we can see others. We see nuance. We can tune into the conversation under the conversation. There is a real power in growing our presence. 5. By present we don’t mean stage presence, or so focused you can’t see the forest for the trees. What we are talking about is “Being in the Now, and in the Moment” – that really intimate place of connection with another. We have all experienced this with a really good health professional. It is this exact thing we train our trainees to be. It is so darn powerful. 6. The work we do with our clients begins with ourselves. We are models of what is possible. Because ultimately. We can only take people as deep as we’ve gone ourselves. We can only meet people to the depth we have met ourselves. We can only love people as well as we’ve loved ourselves We are examples of what is possible. What also came unexpectedly is a heightened ability to see someone as a whole and to be with them in their state while still connecting to my inner self. There is so much that energetically transpires in a healing space and I’ve come to realize how important it is to be able to be with someone else and with myself at the same time. In a nutshell, training with Susi in its essence is about that. Being present to all of that because that’s how greater healing becomes possible. ~ Carolyn; Functional Synergy Graduate We are a Missing Piece in the Recovery and Healing Puzzle The reality is that our world has grown into one that values formal research, science, and evidence. This is good, until there is a human being in front of us who needs and wants to be seen and heard. A human being who doesn’t fit into a pre-determined mold. The other reality is that recovery and healing require you to listen and to be aware. It can be scary, uncomfortable, and/or uneasy. We are in a culture that has learned to push these seemingly "negative" feelings aside, in favour of more “positive” ones. But in pushing those feelings aside, we push aside an inner intelligence. To recover and heal requires us to feel those uneasy and uncomfortable feelings. … and when felt fully they will guide you to not only reduced symptoms and pain, but to connecting with the inner authority that you have always known was there - and provides you an unparalleled sense of knowing and ease. This requires trainers and teachers to step up, to grow, to be a model of what is possible. have the courage to do the hard things - like saying what needs to be said, particularly those things that no one else will say. provide feedback so there is clarity on what, where and how progress is happening. shine the light on what is working and what is going well, and in that context provide the next steps for growth. to be intimate. It has us shed the philosophy of “power over” (I know all) and takes you to a much more intimate relationship of “power with” (we are in this together). We are a Missing Piece in the Recovery and Healing Puzzle (Con'd) While this growth is vitalizing, life-affirming and grounding, and essential for getting amazing results with clients and building the size and scope of client practice you want. The process can be awkward, uneasy and uncomfortable. But as you practice and do the work, you will discover the incredible state of vitality, a reservoir of creativity and resourcefulness. If you find this process of learning compelling, you will love this program. I am taking a physio course this weekend and it is SO entertaining to be in a physiotherapy classroom again, with people asking questions like ‘what techniques do I use to treat xyz diagnosis’ and ‘how often does the patient need to come in for treatment’ etc. I used to be that way! How much my line of thinking has changed in the past years. So THANK YOU for showing me a different way, I do feel light years ahead of the class in that I don’t need to follow a template or memorize the treatment plans. I can just see the person and be with them, and simply give them what they need.
