C’mon you Tons! A WORD FROM THE GAFFER First and foremost, we would like to wish all our members and supporters a Happy New Year. We would like to thank you for all your support since the summer of 2018 and hope that 2019 will be a prosperous one for you. It was a disappointing end to the year for us with the home defeat against Ealing Town considering the start we had in the game and the chances to really to kill off the game at 1-0. We can talk about missed chances but conceding four is never acceptable, especially at home. There are no real excuses from us as they were more clinical on the day and played the conditions slightly better. We start the new year with three very tough fixtures which could set up our season, starting today with FC Star London. They have made a steady start from the games they have actually competed in, having had a delayed start due to international clearance issues. It’s vital we build some form of momentum going into the Stonewall and London Samurai games. The work began on Wednesday at training, to make sure we’re more solid. 4 MEMBERS MEETING 30th January 2019 - 7-9pm Durning Hall Community Centre Earlham Grove, London E7 9AB In preparations for next month's general meeting, we've produced some guidance on how to submit a proposal for the general meeting, based on lessons that we've learned from last time. Supporters had noticed the feline friends hanging out behind the goal at the far end at home games and during clean-up sessions. It turned out kind-hearted neighbours and staff at Matchday Centre had been feeding them – just 1 or 2 at first, but the colony quickly grew and grew. There were increasing concerns for the cats as the nights started to get colder, darker and wetter. So in October, we called Cats Protection. Their volunteer Claire first checked they weren’t owned by any nearby residents. They were then all taken away, neutered, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed. Happily all eight of them have settled into new homes in time for Christmas – including two who have returned to live permanently with neighbours. So you may still see them popping back to the Stray Dog now and then. Clapton CFC members and supporters now have a roof to keep the rain off after the new temporary stand at the Stray Dog was installed. The 20m x 3m structure was fitted to the right of the dugouts at our temporary home just before the Christmas period. Up to now, spectators have been reliant on gazebos, umbrellas and hoods to keep dry after a run of unseasonably rainy weather. The next stage will be to add boxes to provide steps so people at the back can see over the heads of those at the front. The decision to install the temporary stand came after a full members vote with 89% of respondents voting yes. As a temporary structure, all materials can be-used and moved to another ground, should we decide as members to relocate the club. • Marburg Mercenaries Besiegen Munich Cowboys in Einem Packenden Spiel

Getting To Football 2021-22 August 2021 Edition Andy Edwards Andy Edwards 17 Catherine Street Rochester Kent ME1 2HJ [email protected] Most of the content of this work is in the public domain. The remainder of the content, and the presentation of the information, is © Andy Edwards 2021. The cover image is © Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum 2019. Introduction Welcome back to Getting To Football! When I put out the last edition in March 2020, little did I know that it would be almost eighteen months before the next edition. As I write, there is reasonable confidence that football will be almost back to nornal in the 2021-22 season, although it certainly cannot be ruled out that this may change – and if there’s going to be a game, it remains the job of Getting To Football to get you there! For various reasons – mostly related either to procrastination or to cricket - this edition has been prepared with a shorter lead time than usual. This means that not all of the usual content is present; this edition covers only football in England from the Premier League down to Step 6, the top two levels of football in Northern Ireland, the top five levels in Scotland, and the top two levels in Wales. The lower levels in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales will return in the October edition together with hockey and rugby union. Football in Ireland, Gaelic football, hurling, rugby league, and shinty play summer seasons and will return in good time for their 2022 seasons. In another minor change for this edition, I’ve turned the font size up a bit.

SWAFFHAM IN THE GREAT WAR Those who fought These pages contain what we know about the 600 or so men from Swaffham who went to war between 1914 and 1918. Sometimes we know very little – just name and regiment perhaps. Some are well-known local names. Some came briefly and went away known to only a few. Some we may never know - even their names. Some never returned – whether by death or desire. They stand in the shadows – indistinct; obscure. Almost – but never quite – forgotten. They remain part of our past, present and future. • LONDON TRAMWAYS – SL 184 02.10.20 Page 1 of 21 FARE STAGES & Some Other Stops
LONDON TRAMWAYS – SL 184 02.10.20 page 1 of 21 FARE STAGES & some other stops This list aims to cover the whole of the traditional electric, steam, cable & horse tramway systems in the London area. Routes are listed in numerical order generally as at October 1934 (Kingston area as 1930 map, horse tramways as 1913 map), followed by un-numbered routes. Rush hour, weekend only routes and route extensions are not included. In common with most UK traditional tram systems, lists of stopping places were not published, and most stops were un-named, unless they were either fare stages (FS), shown in public timetables or on maps. Generally only fare stages and stops shown in timetables are included in this list. LPTB issued leaflets for at least two routes showing all stopping places following relocation of many stops due to increasing road traffic, route 27 in 1935 and route 67 in 1936 (all stops on these routes are included below). £ or no symbol: FS name in the 1911 Official Tramways Guide, earlier or later fare tables and tickets; £ h: horse tram FS t: name in timetables. + some other stops (e.g. at railway stations, selected loops (L) on single track lines). %: routes shown in more detail with locations of all stops in list “London Transport Tramways 1950” (SL 18) . Since preparation of SL 18, several un-named stops have been found to be fare stages at an earlier date (some with a different name to that I had previously assumed) and are included below. NOTE: SL 18, being one of my original “Amstrad” lists, has not been updated and should be cross-checked with this list, SL 184.
