TSC 2018 is a 6-day gathering consisting of Plenary Sessions, Workshops, Evening Concurrent Talks and Poster Sessions, Technology and Art Exhibits, Social Events and Entertainment. We anticipate that over 800 scientists, philosophers, educators, academicians, students, meditators, artists, interested public and seekers from 50 countries will gather in Tucson. 2018 Themes include: Does consciousness emerge from complex computation among brain neurons? Or is consciousness an intrinsic feature of the universe? What can we learn from studying anesthetic and psychedelic drugs? Is language a feature of biological cognitive structure? Where, when and how do brain activities correlating with consciousness occur? How do they lead to experiential ‘qualia’? What level, or scale of brain organization is required for consciousness? Can AI machines be conscious, and if so, how? What is life, and is it necessary for consciousness? Can consciousness be enhanced by technology and/or genetics? We thank our sponsors, program committee, support staff, hosts, presenters, registrants and volunteers for making TSC possible. We especially acknowledge the extraordinary efforts and many years of service of Abi Behar-Montefiore, Assistant Director of the Center for Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona. Without Abi, The Center and TSC conferences would not be possible. 2 The Science of Consciousness TSC2018 | Tucson, Arizona We are grateful to Senior Graphic Designer, Debra Bowles of UAHS Biomedical Communications at the University of Arizona for her overall contribution to present this event through AV production and design concepts. Continued gratitude to SBS Technology web guru Ed Xia for many years of IT support. We also thank conference co-chair and co-sponsor Professor George Mashour and his ‘Center for Consciousness Science’ at the University of Michigan for leadership, rigor and support. Conference co-chair and CCS Vice-Director Professor Tom Bever has been instrumental in organization and integration of CCS and TSC at the University of Arizona, for which we are very grateful. • The Seven Sacred Bodies - Terms Excerpted from the Glossary of Empowerment
The Corpus Christi - science of the rainbow body The Seven Sacred Bodies - terms excerpted from the Glossary of Empowerment By Richard Rudd The Corpus Christi — One of the journeys making up the Gene Keys Synthesis, the Corpus Christi is the complete science of the ‘Rainbow Body’ — the true underlying nature of all human beings. The Corpus Christi is a synthesis of transmissions, teachings and techniques that underpins the 64 Gene Keys. Representing the higher ‘Mystery School’ teachings of the Gene Keys, it includes the teaching of the Seven Seals, the Seven Sacred Bodies and the Nine Initiations. Deep immersion in the teachings of the Corpus Christi assists you in grounding and embodying the higher frequencies of light into your everyday life. These are the teachings and techniques that allow you to draw the transmission of the Gene Keys layer by layer into the subtle bodies that make up your aura. Literally meaning ‘The Body of Christ’, the Corpus Christi prepares you to work with higher evolutionary frequencies by progressively purifying the many dimensions of your inner being, beginning with your physical body. The 1st Sacred Body - The Physical/Etheric Body Etheric Body — Sometimes known as the ‘etheric double’, the etheric body is the counterpart of your physical body, extending out beyond it into the aura. As the closest of the subtle bodies to the physical, the etheric body is quite well understood by many cultures, in particular in its relationship to our physical health. Systems such as acupuncture or energy medicine work directly on the etheric body, which consists of a vast network of subtle pathways, meridians or ‘nadis’, which create the fundamental grid of the aura.

1 The Ecology of Fringe Science and its Bearing on Policy Harry Collins, Andrew Bartlett and Luis Reyes-Galindo School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University1 emails: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Introduction Fringe science has been an important topic since the start of the revolution in the social studies of science that occurred in the early 1970s.2 As a softer-edged model of the sciences developed, fringe science was a ‘hard case’ on which to hammer out the idea that scientific truth was whatever came to count as scientific truth: scientific truth emerged from social closure. The job of those studying fringe science was to recapture the rationality of its proponents, showing how, in terms of the procedures of science, they could be right and the mainstream could be wrong and therefore the consensus position is formed by social agreement. One outcome of this way of thinking is that sociologists of science informed by the perspective outlined above find themselves short of argumentative resources for demarcating science from non-science. The distinction with traditional philosophy of science, which readily demarcates fringe subjects such as parapsychology by referring to their ‘irrationality’ or some such, is marked.3 For the sociologist of scientific knowledge, that kind of demarcation comprises 1 This paper is joint work by researchers supported by two grants: ESRC to Harry Collins, (RES/K006401/1) £277,184, What is scientific consensus for policy? The Algebra of the Pseudo-Observables II: The Measurement Problem Edoardo Piparo‡ Liceo Scientifico Statale “Archimede”, Viale Regina Margherita 3, I-98121 Messina, Italy E-mail: [email protected] Abstract. In this second paper, we develop the full mathematical structure of the algebra of the pseudo-observables, in order to solve the quantum measurement problem. Quantum state vectors are recovered but as auxiliary pseudo-observables storing the information acquired in a set of observations. The whole process of measurement is deeply reanalyzed in the conclusive section, evidencing original aspects. The relation of the theory with some popular interpretations of Quantum Mechanics is also discussed, showing that both Relational Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Bayesianism may be regarded as compatible interpretations of the theory. A final discussion on reality, tries to bring a new insight on it. Keywords: Quantum measurement problem, interpretation of quantum mechanics, relational quantum mechanics, quantum bayesianism PACS numbers: 03.65.Ta arXiv:1708.01170v2 [quant-ph] 10 Sep 2017 ‡ A.I.F. Measurement in Quantum Mechanics Quantum measurement theory in standard textbooks is expressed in term of the Copenhagen interpretation, that can be summarized in the following essential points: (i) A state vector gives a complete description of the state of a physical system. It determines the probability distribution of the measure outcomes of any observable quantity. (ii) Our knowledge of the physical reality cannot be expressed but by means of the language of the “Classical Physics”.
