This week the middle school team competed at the Battle of the Books in Florence! Trivia from 20 books was evaluated. Our Generals competed against 19 tough teams from across the region. Through 20 rounds, we only had two incorrect responses. We ended with a score of 50 points! Oreo Cookie Plate Tectonics 6th graders used Oreo cookies and their creme to model the five types of plate boundaries they have learned in class.

. 7th grade students concluded their lesson on ecosystems by designing their own model dams and testing their functionality to determine the impact the dam has on the surrounding ecosystem and its organisms. Students created their dam design, engineered the model, and observed the impact water had on their construction.

3, 2, 1… Liftoff!

8th grade Physical Science students were challenged to design a rocket launcher that modeled the relationship between potential and kinetic energy. Students engineered the rocket launchers and calculated the elastic potential energy and kinetic energy of their flight.
