Leonardo Paz Deble A tribo Gnaphalieae é composta de 180-190 gêneros e cerca de 1.240 espécies, com distribuição quase cosmopolita, com maior diversidade na África do Sul, Ásia, Austrália e América do Sul (BAYER et al., 2007; DILLON; SAGASTEGUI, 1991; WARD et al., 2009). Para a América do Sul, Dillon e Sagastegui (1991) reconheceram 2 centros de diversidade: a Cordilheira dos Andes e o Sudeste do Brasil e regiões adjacentes. Tradicionalmente, Gnaphalieae foi subordinada à tribo Inuleae, sen- do reconhecida como um dos grupos de mais difícil identificação dentro da família, dadas a homogeneidade dos caracteres vegetativos e a escassa variação dos caracteres florais (CABRERA, 1961). Estudos recentes demons- traram que as Gnaphalieae encerram grupo monofilético posicionado na base da subfamília Asteroideae (ANDERBERG, 2009; ANDERBERG et al., 2005; FUNK et al., 2005). -

The New World is one of the centers of diversity of the tribe with 24 genera and over 100 species, most of which form a clade called the Luciliagroup with 21 genera. However, the generic classification of the Luciliagroup has been controversial with no agreement on delimitation or circumscription of genera. Especially controversial has been the taxonomic value of achenial trichomes and molecular studies have shown equivocal results so far. The major aims of this paper are to provide a nearly complete phylogeny of the Lucilia group at generic level and to discuss the evolutionary trends and taxonomic significance of achenial trichome morphology. -

Le asteracee sono piante di solito erbacee con infiorescenza che è normalmente un capolino composto di singoli fiori che possono essere tutti tubulosi (es. Conyza ) oppure tutti forniti di una linguetta detta ligula (es. Taraxacum ) o, infine, essere tubulosi al centro e ligulati alla periferia (es. margherita). La famiglia è diffusa in tutto il mondo, ad eccezione dell’Antartide, ed è particolarmente rappresentate nelle regioni aride tropicali e subtropicali ( Artemisia ), nelle regioni mediterranee, nel Messico, nella regione del Capo in Sud-Africa e concorre alla formazione di foreste e praterie dell’Africa, del sud-America e dell’Australia. E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The Paititi Natural Reserve is located in the southeastern part of the Tandilia mountain range (Buenos Aires province, Argentina). With the aim of recording the floristic richness of Sierra Chica, an untouched area of the reserve, all vas- cular plants were inventoried and categorized by family, status, and life form. Altogether, 364 taxa from 72 families were found, with the most predominant families being Poaceae (20.7%), Asteraceae (20.1%), and Fabaceae (5.8%). We found 95 adventive species, 4 cosmopolitan, and 265 native. The most abundant life forms were hemicryptophytes (33.1%), therophytes (30.6%), and criptophytes (22.6%); the therophytes were mostly represented by adventive spe- cies. We also found species that were known from Buenos Aires province but not from mountainous areas. Despite being a small area within Argentina, Sierra Chica constitutes a valuable refuge for native flora of the Tandilia mountain range system, which is in danger of being affected by exotic plants. -

Susanna Received 11 May 2017; accepted 10 December 2017; published online 12 July 2018 Abstract PSEUDOGNAPHALIUM ALDUNATEOIDES BACK IN GNAPHALIUM (COMPOSITAE: GNAPHALIEAE).— Generic classification of some members of the tribe Gnaphalieae (Compositae) and in particular the generic delimitation of the old genus Gnaphali- um has been long problematic. The genus Pseudognaphalium was first split from Gnaphalium based on morphology and later supported by molecular phylogenies. However, the generic identity of some species remains doubtful. Here we provide a morphological study of Pseudognaphalium aldunateoides, which is compared with the type species of Gnaphalium (Gnaphalium uliginosum) and Pseudognaphalium (Gnaphalium oxyphyllum). We also include the three species in a nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) and a plastid (cpDNA) molecular phylogeny of the tribe Gnaphalieae. Our results show that P. aldunateoides has a dimorphic pappus, character not present in the genus Pseudognaphalium but characteristic of the genus Gnaphalium. It also shows a stereome with intermediate features between the undivided stereome typical of Gnaphalium and the fenestrated stereome typical of Pseudognaphalium. -

Rémy, Lucilia Cass., and Mniodes (A.Gray) Benth. (Gnaphalieae, Asteraceae). Over the past 30 years, numerous changes in classification and the resulting transfers have generated confusion. This paper provides a short history of these changes and current information for these genera as they exist in Andean South America. Further, other transfers are provided as suggested by results of sequence analysis data and newly proposed generic concepts: Belloa eriophora (J. Rémy) M. O. Dillon, comb. nov., and Belloa nivea (Phil.) M. O. Dillon, comb. nov. Changes in the diagnosis of Mniodes necessitates the following transfers: Mniodes argentea (Wedd.) M.
