The Rajasthan Society of Extension Education is pleased to present before you the 21st volume (Year-2013) of the Indian Journal of Extension Education and Rural Development. The journal was earlier known as Rajasthan Journal of Extension Education. The journal is comprised of 48 research papers on various aspects of Extension Education in the light of the changing scenario of the farming in the country. These include the knowledge about ber production technology, sprinkler irrigation system, pulse technology, guava production technology, animal husbandry practices, soyabean production technology, ATIC etc. Similarly, other important aspects have also been covered by the researchers like adoption of technologies by the end users, adoption of rabi crop technologies, mustard production technology etc.

The third most important aspect touched by the researchers is the feed back in the form of impact assessment or constraints/problems and reactions of the various technologies/schemes like micro financing through RRBs, animal rearing practices, sprinkler irrigation, cereals, pluses, oil seeds, vegetables etc., We express our sincere gratitude to all the contributor authors.

As usual there is an overload of papers on knowledge, adoption and constraints. Although these issues will continue to be important but simultaneously it is high time to conduct researches on climate change, ATMA, Crop diversification, Cyber extension, Privatization of extension, Organic production system etc.

The Rajasthan Society of Extension Education has touched the new heights in 2012 when an International Conference on Extension Education in the perspectives of Advance in Natural Resource Management in Agriculture (NaRMA IV) was organized at SKRAU, Bikaner. A Galaxy of about 1000 scientists have cooperated and participated in the conference.

I am extremely grateful to Prof. P. N. Kalla, President of Rajasthan Society of Extension Education for his valuable guidance in bringing out the publication of this journal. I am also thankful to the Executive Council and Editorial Board of the society specially Dr. N. K. Punjabi, the Secretary & Dr. Rajeev Bairathi, the Treasurer of the society for rendering valuable assistance in publishing this journal regularly and developing the website of the society.

I am sure that readers will welcome this issue of the journal. The suggestion and comments for improving the quality of the journal will always be appreciated. Looking forward for continued association and contributions from members, readers & other end users. With best wishes. S. K. Sharma Chief Editor ISSN 0973-113
