RESTORATION PAC – “MAKEUP” FACT CHECK OVERVIEW • Matt Rosendale supported the budget-busting tax plan that will add $2 trillion to the national debt, while enriching the wealthy and corporate executives and threatening cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Jon Tester has consistently fought to balance the budget, even returned $3.3 million from his office funds, and passed legislation to cut down on waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government. • Matt Rosendale supported Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, who was the deciding vote to force Montana small businesses to collect and remit sales taxes for other states. Jon Tester introduced legislation to reverse that decision and protect Montana small businesses from a harmful internet sales tax proposal after Montanans have overwhelmingly rejected a sales tax. • Matt Rosendale has not shown that he would keep Montanans safe – he voted to cut funding for the agency that coordinates counterterrorism efforts in the state, voted against creating a sexual assault prosecution office in the Office of the Attorney General, and was one of only seven state senators to vote against bipartisan legislation to crack down on sex trafficking in the state. Jon Tester backed tough sanctions against the Iranian regime and was a leader in strengthening the security of the visa waiver program to prevent terrorists from entering the United States. • Matt Rosendale’s campaign is being propped up by millions in outside spending and he has proven that he would only be a rubber-stamp for his big donors and the dark money supporting his campaign in Washington, DC.
