FROM THE LANCASTER CITY COUNCIL FROM THE LPAC FOUNDATION PRESIDENT After more than a year of being closed due to COVID-19, the Lancaster City Council is thrilled that the Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) has reopened its doors just in time to celebrate its 30th anniversary. So many of us in the Valley have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to enjoy in-person entertainment, and we are so proud that Lancaster is home to a cultural destination like LPAC where we can gather once again to enjoy the arts as a community. The center’s 2021-2022 performance schedule is filled with shows that will delight audience members of all ages and backgrounds all season long. Our 30th season also includes a nostalgic and sentimental trip down memory lane with classic performances honoring Ray Charles, The Carpenters, ABBA, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, and John Denver. Music lovers will enjoy the sounds of American classics with performances by artists ranging from doo-wop and R&B legends The Drifters and The Four Phantoms to The Voice winner, Chevel Shepherd. If you are looking for fresh vocals or instrumentals, you will find something to enjoy here at LPAC this season – whether you see the Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Los Camperos or the best of Broadway and Disney with Lea Salonga. Comedic and dramatic shows will also take the stage this season, bringing long- awaited roars of laughter and cheers to their live audiences. LPAC will welcome acclaimed comedians such as Paul Rodriguez during the AV Comedy Festival, as well as the longtime favorite Whose Live Anyway? show. The Great DuBois is yet another renowned performance act sure to strike awe in audience members with their high- energy circus and incredible feats. When it comes to Lancaster’s youngest theater-goers, there is much for our community’s youth to look forward to this LPAC season. The center will host seasonal favorites such as The Nutcracker ballet and the amazing Artrageous, in addition to other family-friendly events—like a Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along—throughout the year. As we return to enjoying in-person entertainment, we hope that the past year continues to remind us to appreciate venues such as LPAC and the importance of the arts in general. We are honored to be home to the Lancaster Performing Arts Center and we look forward to seeing you there this season! R. BRIAN REGAN Sunday, August 29 | 7 PM $79, $59, $54 Brian Regan’s critically-acclaimed standup routines range from sarcasm to everyday observations, with an innate ability to appeal to just about everyone. Regan turns the most mundane situations – like going to the eye doctor to get fitted for glasses or trying to decide how many Fig Newtons to eat in one sitting – into side-splitting stand-up material. Called by Vanity Fair “The funniest stand-up alive,” and Entertainment Weekly “Your favorite comedian’s favorite comedian,” Regan has built a 30-year career on the strength of his material alone, which is relatable to generations of fans and revered by his comedic peers. brianregan.com Saturday, September 4 | 8 PM $56, $36, $31 The internationally renowned country duo comprised of the husband and wife team of Keifer and Shawna Thompson first broke out in 2010 with the double platinum number one hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not”.
