Talks of repatriation of Rohingya refugees between Burma and Bangladesh have stalled, and many Rohingya refugees reject the prospect of returning in the light of unresolved causes to the violence, and fears of ongoing abuse. • Displaced populations on the Thailand-Burma border face increasing challenges and humanitarian funding cuts. As of October 1, TBC has stopped distributing food aid to Shan IDP camps and the Ei Tu Hta Karen IDP camp. -

Update of Information for Each Country1 1-1 Cambodia (1) Transnational and Asian drug trafficking groups continue to target Cambodia as a source, transit and destination country for amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) and other illicit drugs. Therefore, the amounts of crystalline methamphetamine and cocaine seized in Cambodia since 2012 are significantly higher than in previous years. Cannabis continues to be illicitly cultivated in Cambodia; however, cultivation levels continue to decline. (See 4-1 for more country details.) (2) As a recent trend, majority of the drug users in Cambodia are youths aged between 18 to 35, many of which are unemployed. INTRODUCTION The Government of Myanmar (GoM) and the World Bank are preparing a new Project to reduce childhood stunting in a selected poor Region (R)s and State (S)s. The Project has two objectives: first, to increase the utilization of nutrition services and second, to improve key nutrition behaviors. Towards meeting these objectives, the Project will implement a nutrition-sensitive cash transfer program targeting pregnant women and mothers with infants below 2 years of age, in Ayeyarwady region and Shan states. The Project will expand and further strengthen the Maternal and Child Cash Transfer (MCCT) program, currently implemented by GoM in Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Kayin. -

Protection Incident Monitoring System | Protection Sector Myanmar PROTECTION INCIDENT MONITORING SYSTEM: DASHBOARD Reporting Period: Oct – December 2016 Reporting Area: Northern Shan State KEY INFORMATION KEY FIGURES A total of 83 incidents affecting some 35,000 people were reported.
