RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single An Interview by Lenox Magee Model, actor, and full-time college student Norman Wakefield gives Flavalife a rare SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Straight look inside another man’s pain. After losing his daughter, he found strength through music and modeling to continue on. Now, Norman reveals a life without his daughter SKIN COMPLEXION: Medium and how focusing on music and modeling has allowed him to move on.

HEIGHT: 6’1” LENOX: Your main focus is modeling and singing. When did you start writing your own music? WEIGHT: 185 NORMAN: Music has always been a passion. I’ve always written music since I was HAIR: Brown younger and I still write my music to this day. It gives me a way to express my feelings and basically [through my music] I’m trying to put across a EYES: Brown message to the industry that males hurt just as much as females. What we’re lacking in the industry; males aren’t expressing their feelings. We’re brushing your shoulders off but I’m trying to come out with the feel that we have feelings too. LENOX: Was there a recent experience that made you feel compelled enough to speak out about male affection? NORMAN: Yes. Recently I’ve been through a lot of pain. I had a daughter but then I found that she wasn’t mine. A lot of people didn’t understand how I felt, to have someone taken from you like that. I’m still in her life because I want to be, because I love her, but my heart is beyond being crushed and apart of it will never be replaced and it’s impossible for it to ever be replaced. It’s sort of like someone dying but still being there; it’s almost unbelievable. LENOX: How are you moving on from this experience through your music? NORMAN: I’m handling it because I’m not a weak person but I express myself through music. My music takes over and takes the pain away from me, from my heart. I try not to dwell on it too much because I don’t want to be brought down in the process. I got to let it pass and deal with it. I wrote two or three songs regarding the dilemma. The songs are basically me asking why me, why us. I gave it the feel that I was worried about myself, I worried her, and I was worried about everybody that has to go through this situation. I’m replacing my broken heart through singing, modeling, and acting. I don’t regret going through this experience, it’s made me a better person. LENOX: Are there any particular music groups that you look up too and wish to work with in the future? NORMAN: I’m working on my CD right now. I’m going into the studio to work with H-Town, Sonya Townsend, and, a new up and coming female rapper, Ex2c. The group H-Town is really an inspirational group for me. This groups gives the feel that love is still out there and that’s what I want to add to my music. I don’t want to corrupt the love life of anybody and I don’t want make it seem like if you’re living and your loving it’s going to go wrong, but if you’re living and you’re loving be careful but still go in that direction; it’s worth a try. H-Town reminds me, and a lot people, that love is still out there and that’s why I look up to them. LENOX: Going through all of this, do you still believe in love? NORMAN: I definitely still believe in love. I don’t believe that the girl who putme through this situation didn’t love me. I think we’re unable to not love but we just fight it. I don’t believe it’s possible to not love someone. I don’t know where I would be without poetry or music.
