Congratulations to Elise Katholos, Zara Ajaka, Jenny Vertzayias, Ivy Hinksman and Spencer Nicklin who par- ticipated in the Malabar magic 1km ocean swim last weekend. The event raised money for the Rainbow Club which provides therapy for disabled and handicapped children through swimming. A great cause.

We have started our own 3D Printing Club in the Red- dam Design & Technology Department using our new 3D printer and students have been invited to these workshops during lunchtime.

Our first project will be to create a 3D game figurine, however, there will be plenty of opportunities to pitch new projects along the way. The club will be facilitated by our new D&T teacher, Mrs Deans who has a back- Have a lovely weekend ahead. ground in Art and Design. Dave Pitcairn

HSC DRAMA

This week our HSC Drama students explored the dramatic territory of clown with Alicia Gonzalez from the Clown Institute and Clockfire Theatre Company. Alicia led a practical workshop assisting our students in furthering their preparation and understanding of theatre practitioner Jacques Lecoq's principles of le jeu, disponibilite and complicite. This is essential content for the HSC Course. Engaging in playful exercises designed to inform, create and entertain, Alicia built our student's receptiveness and shared understanding for how the actor must play in order to inhabit the clown. Through their openness to play our students learned first hand about the importance of preparation and exploration.

Last week the Year 7 Hebrew Class went on an excursion to the Our Big Kitchen (OBK) to celebrate the upcoming festival of Purim. The Big Kitchen is a community kitchen that, with the help of volunteers, prepares food to be given to people in need. The Big Kitchen chef taught the students how to make Hamentashens.

Hamentashens are a sweet, triangular filled-pocket pastry, usually associated with the Jewish holiday of Purim and Haman, the villain in the Purim story. Hundreds of pastries were made by enthusiastic Reddam students to be donated to people who need it most. It was a great experience for the students.
