These pages set out the innovative vision, essential mission and core values of multi campus Unicaf University, a unique and exciting tertiary institution, that promises to provide greater higher education opportunities to aspiring students in sub-Saharan Africa and the region. This is a dynamic, forward thinking institution, which aims to open up learning to all who have the ability and the ambition to study. Unicaf has developed from a family of higher education institutions, which draw on a rich heritage of academic traditions and represent an academic community of scholars, researchers and administrators, with an unparalleled accumulated experience in the delivery of quality higher education. This heritage opens up opportunities to gain academic qualifications through a rich and flexible array of modes of study, with us or with one of our partner universities. This prospectus is a dynamic document that will be frequently updated, to accommodate the developments and innovations, which are the hallmarks of our unique vision. Unicaf facilitates the exclusive online global delivery of Bachelor Master's and Doctoral degree programmes of Unicaf University, as well as Master's degree programmes of its UK partners, currently the University of Suffolk, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of East London*. Unicaf also delivers materials for Professional Development Short Programmes offered by Unicaf University and the University of California, Riverside Extension, (Unicaf's partner institution in the USA). (*subject to validation) Unicaf provides study materials though its state-of-the-art digital platform, the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Online learning is gaining ground as an efficient way to impart new knowledge, skills and qualifications, which is suitable for people living away from urban centres, for family carers and home makers, for people with disabilities and for working professionals who cannot give up their careers and salaries to earn new qualifications, in order to seek a promotion or find a better job. The Unicaf VLE, which is available through any mobile or desktop device, enables access to study materials 24/7, regular contact with tutors, access to an extensive e-library collection, and networking with students and professionals in many different countries and cultures. All degree programmes offered by Unicaf and awarded by its partner universities are internationally recognised. Locally, Unicaf University is a licensed university in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe and is also approved to recruit students in Kenya. In Malawi it is accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), and in Zambia it is accredited by the Higher Education Authority (HEA). Unicaf University campuses in Zambia and Malawi are also accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) as an Independent Higher Education Provider. Many more accreditations and licenses by national agencies are on the way, in various other African countries.
