I am grateful to you — our donors, supporters, corporate and community partners — who continue to stand with us in protecting children, supporting families, and strengthening communities. This year was filled with successes and challenges that would not have been possible to achieve and navigate without your support. • In June, the State of Illinois released the remaining $284,090 owed to the Nursery from our original $400,000 DCEO Capital Grant. Receiving this allowed us to enter FY21 mortgage free. Crisis Nursery team and volunteers at WCIA3 Day of Giving (above) • Collaborative efforts from the Crisis Nursery Coalition of Illinois led to additional financial support from OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center drops off wish list items (right) DCFS for all 7 nurseries in Illinois. • In partnership with Crisis Nursery in Effingham and Springfield, $108,255 was raised on December 3 during WCIA’s Day of Giving. Over $90,000 of the funds stayed local. Thank you to the Neiswender Family for challenging our community with a $30,000 match! The 5th Annual Zach McNabney Memorial • Crisis Nursery’s Change Team was launched to recognize and understand how trauma impacts those Golf Outing SOLD OUT for the first time. Kathy Young accepts Master we serve. Gardener Teamwork award on COVID-19 challenged us. After losing volunteers in March, our capacity to serve children went from 12 to behalf of Crisis Nursery 6. We adapted our 24-hour emergency shelter to serve extreme emergencies, increased virtual outreach to support families, and delivered basic necessities to porches. The Nursery continued to walk alongside families by pivoting home visits to virtual visits. Our Parent-Child Interaction and Support Groups saw increased attendance. To support program services, fundraising events transitioned online. Through good times and moments of loss and uncertainty, one thing remained true; Crisis Nursery was there for the most vulnerable children and families. Thank you for standing with us. You make our mission to prevent child abuse and neglect possible. With gratitude and optimism, Illinois PGA Birdies for Charity raised $13,667 for the Nursery.

Our Mission Crisis Nursery creates an “Island of Safety” dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect by providing 24-hour emergency care for children and support to strengthen families in crisis. www.crisisnursery.net

Over 17 years ago my two sons stayed at the Nursery during the day, for several weeks when my wife fell ill with congestive heart failure after giving birth to our daughter. We had exhausted help with friends and family, so we were grateful for the help of the Nursery. The two boys you helped are now 18 and 19, off to college, and doing well.
