To conclude, to reach the final of the Unicorn’s Trophy was a huge achievement of which all of those involved can be suitably proud. In the Championship, the performances in the last four games show that we can more than compete with all of the sides in the Division. The first two Championship games also prove that availability for these games (in the school term) is something that needs to be seriously addressed. Oxfordshire Cricket would like to thank the clubs for hosting our games this summer (Aston Rowant, Banbury, Bicester & North Oxford and Challow & Childrey cricket clubs) and for the players, umpires and scorers for their continued support and co- operation for this season. The match itself could not have got off to a better start. Carla Wood took a wicket on the very first Gemma Muttitt and Genny Porter ball, which set the tone for the rest of the match. We put in an all-round excellent bowling and fielding display to keep Leics to 89 all out. Ellie Noble once again starred with the ball, finishing on 3-23, Sam Moore was also impressive with figures of 3-31, and Ellie Porter, Carla Wood, Emilia Bartram and Lucy Gladdy also put in fantastic bowling performances. Leicestershire’s low total was passed in the 28th over, with Genny Porter finishing on 49no and Abi Currie 14no.

Leicestershire were also our opponents in the final stage of the T20 competition. The first round had resulted in us being placed in the bottom three teams, two of which would be relegated following a three way play-off. Hertfordshire pulled out of the competition and therefore were automatically relegated, and we were left to fight it out with Leics. It was an incredibly exciting match. We batted first and made 113, of which Rhian Todd contributed 42 from 39 balls. Leics looked like they were going to make the target, before the wicket of their key player. They finished on 109, during which Lucy Gladdy took 3-23.
