P9-21 ANNUAL FIRE PREVENTION

P24-25 Residents show support On Saturday, October 3 the Three Hills RCMP along with the Three Hills Victim Services held a food drive at Three Hills IGA. Over $1600.00 in cash donations was received along with a truckload of food. A lot of volunteers came out to make this a huge success including Constable John McLachlin, Constable Matt Nyman, KIDS Sergeant Jamie Day, RCMP Chaplin Greg Rector, Program Manager Carolyn Kung, Victim Services advocates Bonnie Hebert, Miriam Rashleigh, Michelle Wiley, and Board member Karen Fegan. Constable Nyman felt the team should give something back to the community while bringing awareness to the needs of those in our ACTIVITY community. The community came out to show support for this vital service. Those who came by to offer encouragement were asked to take time to write a note on the Police vehicle or have the kids sign their name. Notes that people wrote included "Thank you for keeping us safe" from Jeremy; "Thank you Police for all your PAGES hard work" from Trent; and "You are awesome" from Amy. Sign Design, from Linden, donated a sign that said "Help us Help others". The sign described exactly what happened - dozens of Kneehill County residents came out to help others who are in need.

Residents entertained Chateau Three Hills residents Jim and Mildred Bruce had their long-time friends, who are a part of the Cochrane Pipe Band, call on them on Wednesday, September 16 and give a short concert outside the front entrance. Several residents gathered outside or listened from the balconies. The two pipers were Dave Kirk and Kim Gunn, with Rick Deans playing the snare drum and Leslie Deans playing the tenor drum. Ultrasound fundraiser Melvin Wright, of Three Hills, has launched his 23rd fundraiser to help the community. Melvin became aware of the need for a hand-held ultrasound unit. This will be used on expecting mothers at the Kneehill Medical Clinic. The cost of the unit is $4,000. To date Melvin has raised $1,185 toward the project. If you would like to contribute to Melvin’s goal give him a call at 403-443-5879. If there is no answer please leave a message.
