Market The most influential factor is the success of the so- called mega-ships. A decade ago, a 70,000t size ships was considered a very large ship; now it is barely medium-sized. 60% of the 81 ships on order up to 2026 will measure more than 100,000t and 10 of them will top 200,000t. Market Market trends show the most growth in bookings is coming in for mega-ships with the least growth for boutique or yacht-styled ships. The lower prices of the former are obviously an important factor but it does highlight the difference between perception and reality as mega-ships are generally negatively perceived even among traditional cruise fans. It also demonstrates exactly why all the major brands are so committed to filling their fleets with them. Market Although the mega-ships have generated some negative publicity for the industry, the fact is that these ships have proved hugely popular with passengers and, more importantly for the sector – disproportionately profitable compared to the smaller ships that the major brands used to operate (and still do but in declining numbers). Market The profits generated by the mega-ships comes primarily from the inbuilt greater efficiency of operating one ship that carries 5,000 passengers compared with operating two with 2,500 passengers apiece. This is manifested across most operational areas from crew numbers and fuel usage to marketing and promotion. But there is also the potential for far greater on-board revenue (pro rata) compared with smaller ships as the space is there to add more revenue- generating options in dining and entertainment. And as minimum numbers for some tours can more easily be met due to the sheer number of passengers onboard it is anticipated that increased shore excursion revenue can also be generated. • It's the Real Greek Experience by Celestyal Cruises. Don't Resist!
It’s the real Greek experience by Celestyal Cruises. Don’t Resist! MARCH - NOVEMBER 2015 Say “Kalimera!” to the Real Greek Experience! Our cruises are a promise. We promise to take you to the places you’ve dreamt of, iconic harbors and idyllic islands where you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back into a bygone Greece. We promise to spoil you with our legendary hospitality and our stellar Greek food and wines, to give you the best of Greece with spectacular excursions and special themed events. In 2015 Louis Cruises gives a name to this promise when we launch Celestyal Cruises. “Celestyal” means “of the stars,” “heav- enly” and “divine” – it defines the authentic Greek experience we provide. “Celestyal” honors the Ancient Greeks, one of the first civilizations to use celestial navigation, as does our new logo, which combines two iconic, eternal Greek images: the spiral, taken from seashells, which adorns many of our ancient columns, and the windmills of the Aegean – both have inspired Greeks for millennia. The Celestyal logo evokes the sea, the sun and the wind. It reaffirms our commitment to our Hellenic roots, and to supporting the economy and preserving the environment of each destination we visit. “Kalimera!” doesn’t just mean “good morning,” it means “good” in every sense of the word: quality, satisfaction, happiness…at Celestyal, we live by it. This is why each of our cozy ships feels like a floating hotel where the entire staff knows you by name, where you travel from one incredible experience to the next: a lavish Greek meal, a traditional Greek coffee, a local wine, a special themed event that brings you to the heart of ancient and modern Hellenic culture…and our incredible destinations, of course.

  • AIDA Cruises Will Resume Cruise Operations with Fall and Winter Voyages
AIDA Cruises Will Resume Cruise Operations with Fall and Winter Voyages Germany's leading cruise line will begin Canary Island cruises in November, Western Mediterranean and Orient cruises in mid-December and extends pause until November ROSTOCK, Germany, Aug. 28, 2020 -- AIDA Cruises, the leading cruise line in Germany and a part of Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), today announced that it will offer cruises this fall and winter that combine the fascination of a cruise trip with an unforgettable holiday experience to several popular destinations. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the conditions are currently not in place in Germany's neighbouring European countries, especially in the north with Norway and Denmark or the Baltic states. For many distant destinations outside of Europe, the Federal Republic of Germany has issued a travel warning or the respective countries have prohibited calls of cruise ships until 2021. As a result, the company has cancelled its previously announced cruises for September and has updated its fall and winter 2020-2021 program to provide its guests and sales partners additional time to plan and book vacations for a safe and enjoyable return to cruise holidays. As the first ship from the AIDA fleet to begin sailing, AIDAmar will set course on Nov. 1, 2020, for seven-day voyages to the Canary Islands, a popular destination with German vacationers. AIDAperla will follow on Nov. 7, 2020, and will take over the travel program originally planned for AIDAnova. AIDAmar's voyages will start and end in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. For voyages with AIDAperla, in addition to Las Palmas, AIDA Cruises will offer a second departure port with Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
