In other words, the local MDs (and DOs) are being told about the new guidelines in how they should care for patients. Plus, in addition to better known but drastically underutilized therapies such as chiropractic and massage, Motor Control Exercise (aka MCE) is being specifically recommended. This is a huge opportunity for DCs…especially for chiropractors who incorporate individualized MCE rehab protocols into their care plans. All Motor Control Exercise is Not the Same MCE are not just any exercise (or rehab) performed with good form, and they’re way more than just muscle isolation. MCEs are about precise isolation of motor control and stabilization, with accuracy, across the whole body. The Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act of 2018, as the bill is known, was included in a larger, unrelated piece of legislation (H.R. 302) that passed the Senate overwhelmingly on October 3rd. Workers Comp Dilemma

: We have a patient that was injured on the job. He is not Qapproved to come for chiropractic care, but wants to come and use his Anthem insurance. Do we still check the box on the claim form indicating a work injury, even though we will not be billing through a worker’s comp claim? I’m sure Anthem is going to deny the claim, figuring someone else is responsible for the bill. The patient does not want us to report that it is a work injury, but we know it’s a work injury, and we still did the work up for a work injury. Advice?
