The Mineral Water Bowl Committee has announced the teams to participate in the 52nd Mineral Water to be held Saturday December 2nd, 2017 at Tiger Stadium in Excelsior Springs MO. Kickoff is schedule for 12:00pm (Noon). The University of Central Missouri Mules (Warrensburg, MO) 8-3 3rd place in The MIAA vs The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (Duluth MN) 8-3 NSIC North Division Champions

UCM will be making their 3rd trip to the Mineral Water Bowl (2nd in DII) with a 1-1 bowl record and 1st appearance since 2001.

The Mules are coached by in his 8th year at the helm. Coach Svoboda comes in to the bowl game with a 64-28 career record and 5th post season appearance.

The Mules offense comes in averaging 40.7 points per game and 527.1 yards of total offense. JR Quarterback Brook Bolles has thrown for 3485 yards, 21 touchdowns along with 8 rushing touchdowns. He has a trio of receivers to choose from. SR Jaylen Zachery with 833 yards, JR Kyrion Parker 6 TD’s and JR Seth Hebert with 4 TD’s. On the ground the Mules are led by a pair of Redshirt Freshman in Devante Turner with 856 yards and 16 TD’s and Koby Wilkerson 739 yards and 6 TD’s.

The defense is led by SR Diaron Rhodes with 62 tackles and R-FR Codie Bell with 57. JR Austin Miller leads the Mules with 4 sacks along with SO Kolesen Crane. In charge of the Defensive secondary is SR Monteze Latimore with 4 INT’s.

University of Minnesota-Duluth will be making their 3rd trip to the Mineral Water Bowl coming in with a 9-2 record and 1st place in the Northern Sun North Division.

The Bulldogs Head Coach in is 5th year is Curt Wiese comes in with a 51-10 overall record 4 NSIC North Division Titles, 3 NCAA appearances and 1 overall NSIC Championship.

UMD offense comes in averaging 33.2 points per game and 400.8 yards per game. Two Quarterbacks lead the way in SO Ben Everhart with 1181 yards and 8 TD’s and R-FR John Larson with 1001 yards and 13 TD’s. JR Anthony Wood is the leading rusher with 678 yards and 8 TD’s. Receives R-FR Jason Balts and SR Dominic Bonner come in to the Bowl with 893 yards and 8 TD’s, 443 Yards and 8 TD’s respectively.

The stout UMD Defense only allows 16.7 points per game to go along with 3 shutouts. SR Zach Bassuener leads the team in tackles with 53 and sacks with 6. JR Gus Weding is close behind with 47 tackles. FR Karl Finkel has 12 tackles for a loss.
