Form guide • Emiliano Mondonico's Torino beat Benny Johansen's B 1903 København 1-0 at home and 2-0 away in the 1991/92 UEFA Cup quarter-finals. Torino went on to reach the final, losing to AFC Ajax on away goals. B1903 merged with Kjøbenhavns BK to become FCK in summer 1992. • The teams for that meeting in Turin on 19 March 1992 were: Torino: Marchegiani, Bruno, Mussi (Cois 73), Annoni, Benedetti, Cravero, Scifo (Sordo 57), Lentini, Casagrande, Martín Vázquez, Venturin. B 1903: Petersen, Wegner, Tur, Piechnik, Højer, Pierre Larsen, Bjerre, Uldbjerg (Birkedal 45), Manniche, Martin Johansen (Rasmussen 75), Lyng. • FCK's only success in eight meetings with Italian sides was a 2-1 victory at home against SS Lazio in 2001/02 UEFA Champions League qualifying. Their heaviest European defeat to date was a 6-0 loss at home to another Serie A club, AC Milan, in October 1993. • Torino have yet to concede in five European games this season. Trivia and links • Torino goalkeeper Jean-François Gillet and FCK defender Mikael Antonsson were team-mates at Bologna FC (2011-12). • FCK defender Kris Stadsgaard also played in Italy, with Reggina Calcio. • Torino are playing in Europe for the first time since the 2002 UEFA Intertoto Cup. The coaches • Giampiero Ventura led Torino back to Serie A after taking charge in 2011, and is now enjoying – at the age of 66 – his first season in Europe. Previously a player at UC Sampdoria, he once led US Lecce from Serie C to Serie A, and also oversaw promotion to the top tier with Cagliari Calcio, as well as winning a club record 50 Serie A points with AS Bari in 2009/10. • FCK's Norwegian coach Ståle Solbakken earned 58 caps during a successful playing career, which ended abruptly after he suffered a heart attack. Having won five Danish titles in his first spell as the club's coach, Solbakken returned to FCK in 2013. 3 Torino FC - FC København Thursday 2 October 2014 - 21.05CET (21.05 local time) Match press kit Stadio Olimpico, Turin Team facts Torino FC Formed: 1906 Nickname: Il Toro (The Bull) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • UEFA Cup: (1992) Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 7 (1976) Italian Cup: 5 (1993) Ten-year European record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2013/14: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2012/13: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2010/11: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2009/10: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2008/09: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2007/08: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2006/07: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2005/06: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2004/05: did not take part in UEFA club competition Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 6-1: Torino v KR Reykjavík 02/10/91, UEFA Cup first round second leg 5-0: Torino v FC Haka 06/12/64, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup first round second leg • Biggest away win 0-4: FC Nantes v Torino 17/09/86, UEFA Cup first round first leg • Heaviest home defeat* 2-3: Torino v SC Bastia 07/12/77, UEFA Cup third round second leg 1-2 on four occasions, most recently v Lillestrøm SK 29/09/93, UEFA Cup first round second leg 0-1: Torino v ŠK Slovan Bratislava 19/02/69, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup quarter-final first leg • Heaviest away defeat 4-0: UD Las Palmas v Torino 27/09/72, UEFA Cup first round second leg UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League • Biggest home win 6-1: Torino v KR Reykjavík (see above) • Biggest away win 0-4: FC Nantes v Torino (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 2-3: Torino v SC Bastia (see above) 1-2 twice, most recently v FC Dinamo Moskva 22/10/92, second round first leg • Heaviest away defeat 4-0: UD Las Palmas v Torino (see above) *Torino also lost 2-0 to TSV 1860 München in a 1964/65 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semi-final replay staged in Zurich, in which they were the nominal home team 4 Torino FC - FC København Thursday 2 October 2014 - 21.05CET (21.05 local time) Match press kit Stadio Olimpico, Turin FC København Formed: 1992 Nickname: Løverne (The Lions) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • none Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 10 (2013) Danish Cup: 5 (2012) Ten-year European record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2013/14: UEFA Champions League group stage 2012/13: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2011/12: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2010/11: UEFA Champions League round of 16 2009/10: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2008/09: round of 32 2007/08: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2006/07: UEFA Champions League group stage 2005/06: first round 2004/05: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 7-0: København v Cliftonville FC 31/07/08, UEFA Cup first qualifying round second leg • Biggest away win 0-6 twice, most recently v FK Mogren 22/07/09, UEFA Champions League second qualifying round second leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-6: København v AC Milan 20/10/93, UEFA Champions League second round first leg • Heaviest away defeat 5-0 on three occasions, most recently v SK Hradec Králové 14/09/95, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup first round first leg UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League • Biggest home win 7-0: København v Cliftonville FC (see above) • Biggest away win 1-5: Mikkelin Palloilijat v København 30/09/92, first round second leg 0-4 twice, most recently v Cliftonville FC 17/07/08, first qualifying round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 1-3 twice, most recently v Olympique de Marseille 18/02/10, round of 32 first leg 0-2 on four occasions, most recently v VfB Stuttgart 08/11/12, group stage • Heaviest away defeat 5-0 twice, most recently v AJ Auxerre 21/10/92, second round first leg 5 Torino FC - FC København Thursday 2 October 2014 - 21.05CET (21.05 local time) Match press kit Stadio Olimpico, Turin Squad list Torino FC Current season All-time QUAL UEL League UEL UEFA No. Player Nat.
