Hardware Requirements 1. CPU: Intel Xeon Dual Core or above. x64 bit CPU. 2. RAM Memory: Minimum 4GB for less than 10 workstations and/or POS terminals. 6GB for 10 or more workstations and/or POS terminals. 3. Hard disk drive: 120GB or larger, with RAID or mirroring technology enabled. RAID 5 with 3 drives is recommended to maximize uptime. 4. We recommend a partitioned drive for Northstar having 80% of the total size of hard disk drive.

Software Requirements 1. Northstar requires a dedicated server, with no other application software operating, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, and any previous accounting systems. Northstar will not install on servers when non-supported software is running. 2. : Windows Server 2000, 2003 or 2008 (Standard or SBS, 64 bit). 3. Internet Explorer: 7.0 or 8.0. 4. Communications Software and Access 1. Northstar will install licensed copies of UltraVNC and Logmein during its installation process. 2. We also require that Microsoft Remote Desktop be activated and configured in the firewall and router. 3. Northstar requires Administrative rights to the server (not to the domain). We can accept a new user with Administrative rights, or we can use the Administrator account itself.

Network Configuration 1. The server should have both an internal and an external static IP. Northstar must be able to access the server remotely through its static IP. 2. The following router ports should be forwarded to the Northstar server: 8080 (Tomcat Webserver), 3389 (Remote Desktop), 5900 and 5901 (UltraVNC). 3. The server should be on a domain (it can be a Primary Domain Controller if running Windows Server 2003 or later). Active Directory is supported.

Tape Backup and Anti-Virus Software 1. For backup, the Club must install SQLYog Enterprise Edition (Single User Non Commercial), available from www.sqlyog.com. SQLYog scripts the database to an SQL file nightly. The SQL files are located on the same drive as the Northstar installation. 2. Please INCLUDE the following Northstar folders in your daily tape, CD or other backup mechanism: • \NS_DB_Backups • \Northstar\Tools • \Northstar\Updates • \Northstar\Data (For Northstar Connect Installations) 3.
