INSTALLATION: 1 SUPPORT: 1 FIRST STEPS / SETTINGS: 2 CONTROL: 3 TRAINING-MODE: 4 ONLINE-MODE: 6 FRIENDLY: 7 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: 8 LEAGUE-MODE: 8 GUARANTEE: 9 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND PROTECTION OF MINORS: 9 INSTALLATION Your system will require 1 GB of free space on your hard disk for the complete installation of IHF Handball Challenge 12. 1. Put the DVD into the DVD-drive of your computer. The DVD includes an Autoplay-Mode, making sure that the installation process will start automatically. This process might take up to two minutes. If the software doesn’t start automatically, please choose the DVD-folder and open the application HC-Setup manually. 2. Please choose the language of your installation in the information menu. The language for IHF Handball Challenge 12 can be chosen after the start of the game. Accept the license agreement and follow the instructions of the installation. You might need to install other software, which is already included on the DVD, and has to be confi rmed by clicking „Ok“. 3. The game will start automatically after the installation. If you like to get information about updates directly from within the game, please confi rm the request prior to the start of the game with „Yes“. In case of limited Windows user-rights you have to approve the update tool from CatenaLogic in your Windows fi rewall manually. 4. During the installation a folder on your hard disk will be created, from where you can start IHF Handball Challenge 12. If you like, an icon to start the game will be created on your desktop or in the start menu in the program section. The DVD has to be inserted into the DVD-drive in order to play the game! You need a profi le to save game scores, to create your own player or to use the online features. On the fi rst screen after starting the game you can see your profi les. Choose the default profi le to get to the Main Menu. Then click on Training Camp to create your own online profi le and design your player. In case you don’t like to have your own online profi le, you can also use a default profi le. To do so please click on Offl ine on the start screen of the Training Camp. You can fi nd more info about your player profi le in the sections Training Camp and Online-Mode. Calibrate Gamepad If you like to play with a gamepad, then you can calibrate it just the way you like in the section Setup in the Main Menu. Click on Controller and follow the graphical indications. You can either click on the indicated key assignment or make changes with . Just press the button of your choice on the gamepad on do so with all other buttons as well. Graphic Settings In the menu Settings you can change the monitor resolution and text quality in the section Graphics. In case you own a graphic card with an average performance you should opt for a lower graphic setting, because the game might not work as intended. Please make sure you also read the system requirements on the back of the package. Other Settings You can also change the language and the sound settings in the setting menu. Once you are done with your settings (don’t forget to save) navigate back to the Main Menu, to take care of the controlling. But fi rst you better start with the Training Camp. - 2 - CONTROL Offense - 3 - Defense TRAINING CAMP The Training Camp helps you to get used to the control in various mini-games, to improve your skills and design your virtual character individually. You can gain credits and experience points during the mini-games, benefi ting from them in the online mode (see section: Online-Mode). You can go to the Training Camp via the Main Menu. Player Creation In the menu My Player you can choose a club, change the look of your player individually and your clothes for the training in the locker room. You have to save the changes of your player with to acti- vate them. Additional clothing, more arenas and mini-games can be unlocked with the help of credits in the online shop in case you have an online profi le (see section: Online-Mode). Tutorial Once you go to the Gym for the fi rst time, the tutorial will be started, where you can get used to the control. You can get further advices regarding the control in this booklet or the help screen, which you can select during the game using SELECT (Keyboard: F1). - 4 - The Mini-Games You can improve your skills in six different mini-games, like 7-meter shootout, 1-vs-1 defense or fast break. The next mini-game will be unlocked once you win four medals in the previous one. Fast Break: The goal of the fi rst mini-game is to score as many goals as possible within three minutes. Request the ball with the pass button and sprint towards the opposing goal. Watch your stamina on the lower left of the screen, because with less stamina your shots become less accurate. After every shot you have to run back and around the cones to request the next ball. Hotspot Shootout: Try to score as fast as possible from each position. The positions to shoot from are marked on the fl oor. Watch your stamina here as well. 1-vs-1 Offense: Move around the defender or jump over him, if he is defending at the penalty area. You can make a body fake with . Press the left shoulder button simultaneously for special moves. You have 20 shots to use. 7-Meter-Shootout: Keep your nerves in check and beat two keepers from the Bundesliga. You can fake a shot and lean left or right LB RB . The harder you shoot the less accurate the shot will be! 1-vs-1 Defense: Stop stars like Conny Wilczynski and Filip Jicha. You can push, block or hold your opponent. You gain a point for every successful move. 2-vs-2: Before you can move on to the bigger stage you can test your skills in a training match against Nikola Karabatic and Filip Jicha. Pass the ball to your free teammate, beat your opponents 1-vs-1 and stop them on defense. Game clock Stamina Screenshot: Fast break Goals - 5 - ONLINE-MODE If you register online you can get more exciting game contents. Go to the Training Camp and register with your mail-address and a password. You will receive a mail from Neutron Games to confi rm your registration in order to use the online features. After the registration you can choose a profi le name and edit your player. Career: In the Training Camp under the section My Player you can choose your club and will be part of the roster immediately. If you average at least 60 skill points, you can be called up for your national team. To be available for a call-up you have to check the mark in the menu My Player under the section Player Data (only available if you average 60 skill points). Skills: If you train online you gain experience points (XP) for every training session. Once you have reached a certain amount of XP you receive skill points, which you can use to improve your Skills in the Training Camp. Achievements: Here you can compare yourself in different rankings with players from around the world. The latest world records from the mini-games will be saved here as well. Challenge friends: Invite your friends via mail or enter their username in order to add them to the list of your friends. There you can compare your skills and challenge them. Bet a certain amount of credits and show them, who is the better player. Your result will be saved and as soon as your challenged friend goes online, he will be asked to top your result. The winner will receive important experience points. It’s not possible to play 7-vs-7 online against each other. Shop and Credits: If you play online you receive credits for certain performances in the mini-games, which you can use in the shop for new shirts or other items. In case you don’t have enough credits you can buy new stuff for real money (the web shop opens in a new browser outside the game). - 6 - FRIENDLY In the mode Friendly you can choose between more than 90 different teams, for example top teams like Montpellier HB with superstar Nikola Karabatic or exotic teams like New York City Team Handball Club. Use the left analog stick and confi rm with . Choose the side either with the keyboard or with the gamepad. Up to fi ve players can play with or against each other. You can choose the different jerseys using LB RB . Formation Here you can check the skills of your players and change the formation. Press to mark the respective player and choose the substitute with as well.
