As a community, we have faced adversity head-on in what has proved to be the largest global pandemic our generation has ever seen. We Yamilka Peguero, Senior have stepped up to help not only each other but our community at large. We have Kappa Phi Lambda collectively completed almost 1,300 hours of community service with eight Sorority, Inc. organizations reaching, and even surpassing, their service hour goal. Our impact on our community is clear, and your hard work does not go unnoticed. Not only have we still found a way to serve our community but also raise awareness through our philanthropic efforts. We have collectively raised over $1000 for different organizations and causes ranging from Breast Cancer Awareness to Domestic Violence Awareness. Furthermore, because of your dedication to scholarship and academic achievement, we have seen our highest honor society enrollment of 30 new initiates to the Fall 2020 Zeta Class of Gamma Sigma Alpha. As detailed in the Greek Commission Report, we continue to contribute and engage with our University community through our continued leadership and commitment to scholarship and service. (For more information on the Greek Commission Report please visit: https://www.albany.edu/studentaffairs/ greek_life_commission.shtml)
Throughout the semester, The All Greek Council has been working diligently to ensure that we are actively promoting and providing our community with more diversity and inclusion training and encouraging discussions and activities within our New Member Intake Programs. Our community is vastly diverse, and we want to ensure that everyone feels welcome. We continue to further educate our community through training, like Generation RX and Bystander Training, but actively being a part of the solution with all Board Members trained to facilitate these discussions. The Participation of the All Greek Council within the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life Staff meetings has allowed for more seamless and transparent communication between the Office and our community. Your voices are important to us, and we are working actively with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to do what is best for our community as a whole. The All Greek Council has adopted the SUNY Uniform Sanction Policy to ensure that we are making sure to keep one another safe and holding those who violate said policies accountable through these unprecedented times. Looking ahead into the Spring 2021 semester, the All Greek Council will: • Continue creating more preventative measures and policies to lessen unsafe downtown social activities • Continue to shed a positive light on all our community has accomplished • Address concerns from the Greek Commission Report Thank you for believing in All Greek Council leadership and ensuring the safety of our community and members. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation through these uncertain times.

Our chapters have provided a social purpose and social action amongst UAlbany students and alumni. Through philanthropy and educational programming, our members continue to bring attention to issues that impact people of color, LGBTQIA, women, etc. They dedicate time to work with local agencies by donating countless volunteer hours and fundraise to assist with essential resources to continue the work. Above are three notable alum who continue this work even after their undergraduate career.
Return to table of contents Part 2 Social Justice
Black Lives Matter Throughout 2020, taking a stand against social injustices has been at the forefront of our Greek community. During the summer of 2020, many marches and protests were held for Black Lives Matter, but our Greeks at UAlbany didn't stop there. In early October, UAlbany's NPHC held a Black Lives Matter March on UAlbany's campus to remind everyone that the fight for social justice must continue.
Understanding the issues that impact our Greek community is a top priority of Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) and the All Greek Council (AGC). In the fall semester, FSL and AGC evaluated all strategies and efforts to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Link to article: https:// myinvolvement.org/news/199395). Much like the fight for social justice, the work to continue to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion must continue.
