It was developed by the MP Gau Samvardhan Board by spending about Rs 32 crore . Around 4,000 cows are living in the sanctuary spread across 472 hectares and in 2018, more than 600 cows had died due to extreme weather conditions. Madhya Pradesh will soon be able to produce its own seeds o The Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Seed Federation will produce its own seeds in addition with distribution and marketing of certified and high-quality seeds to farmers. o The brand name of seeds to be ‘Sah-Beej’ produced from next Rabi season. o The decision was taken in a meeting Board of Directors’ held under the chairmanship of Govind Singh, Minister for Cooperatives in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. o Seed societies in the state are linked with seed federation and will help in the marketing of seeds. o Training will also be given to members of seed societies through agriculture science centres to make them competent and empowered. Madhya Pradesh got its First International Flight with Air India‟s Service from Indore-Dubai o On July 15, 2019, Madhya Pradesh got its First International Flight with the launch of a flight service to Dubai from the Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport, Indore with a national carrier Air India (Flight AI 903) with 150 passengers. o It was flagged off by Air India Chairman Ashwani Lohani along with local Parliamentarian Shankar Lalwani in the presence of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. o Air India is operating aircraft which will fly three times a week – Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from Indore to Dubai. Forest Cover (Area-wise): Madhya Pradesh> Arunachal Pradesh> Chhattisgarh> Odisha> Maharashtra. Forest Cover (Percentage): Mizoram (85.4%)> Arunachal Pradesh (79.63%)> Meghalaya (76.33%) According to India State of Forest Report the recorded forest area of the state is 94,689 sq. km which is 30.72% of its geographical area. According to Indian state of forest Report (ISFR – 2019) the total forest cover in M.P. increased to 77,482.49 sq km which is 25.14% of the states geographical area. The forest area in MP is increased by 68.49 sq km. The first forest policy of Madhya Pradesh was made in 1952 and the second forest policy was made in 2005. Madhya Pradesh has a total of 925 forest villages of which 98 forest villages are deserted or located in national part and sanctuaries. MP is the first state to nationalise 100% of the forests. Among the districts, Balaghat has the densest forest cover, with 53.44 per cent of its area covered by forests. Ujjain (0.59 per cent) has the least forest cover among the districts In terms of forest canopy density classes: Very dense forest covers an area of 6676 sq km (2.17%) of the geograhical area. Moderately dense forest covers an area of 34, 341 sqkm (11.14% of geograhical area). Open forest covers an area of 36, 465 sq km (11.83% of geographical area) Madhya Pradesh has 0.06 sq km.

Profile of the Gwalior & Chambal Division Gwalior and Chambal Divisions are administrative subdivisions of Madhya Pradesh consisting 9% & 6% of state population respectively. Gwalior Division covers five districts namely Ashoknagar, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, and Shivpuri and Chambal Division consists of the three districts namely Morena, Bhind and Sheopur.
