Environmental Health: Waste, Sewer, and Drinking Water

There are several interesting contrasts in the solid waste, sewer, and drinking water statistics. Bathurst, for example, reports one of the lower per dwelling solid waste costs, but has among the highest rates for both water and sewer service. Dorchester also shows high- medium-low figures for sewer, drinking water, and solid waste, respectively, while comes in low on solid waste and towards the higher-cost end for sewer and drinking water.

The range of costs and charges is somewhat wider for sewer than it is for solid waste or drinking water.

New Maryland is noteworthy for having the highest average sewer charge per dwelling.

Given that is an island, it is not surprising that it has the highest cost for the collection and disposal of solid waste.
