Age as of January 1, 2015. Rider may compete in different divisions on different for daily hi-point where eligible. Must enter 3 of the 4 shows for series awards Streamer Ribbons through 5th place High Point and Reserve Awards in each Division 5 point system or the number in the class up to 5 horses , example; 3 horses in the class = 3 points for 1st place

Show Rules Negative COGGINS paperwork required at show check-in. NO FOR RIDERS UNDER 18. AQHA guidelines apply though modifications may be made as management deems necessary. Judges decision is final. Any unsportsmanlike conduct, profanity or public intoxication in the arena or show grounds will disqualify any contestant. PROTESTS must be in writing and be accompanied by a $100 cash deposit. REFUNDS: Entry fees are not refundable unless acompanied by a vet certificate or doctors note. Returned checks for insufficient funds will be assessed an additional $35.00. Show management reserves the right to combine classes, with 2 or less exhibitors with like class. No running of horses on the Show grounds outside of warmup arenas and round pen. TWO MINUTE RULE: Gate will be closed two minutes after the last horse enters the arena, unless a tack change has been requested prior to class. Tack and horse must be at out gate ready for the tack change NOT AT THE TRAILER OR STALL AND YOU MUST NOTIFY THE GATEMAN. JUNIORS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR HELMETS IN ALL CLASSES; RECOMMENDED FOR ADULTS. ATTIRE: No formal attire necessary. Boots, jeans/riding breeches, long sleeve shirts, western hat or helmet required. No short sleeve shirts/T-shirts, Baseball caps or tennis shoes will be allowed in the show arena. Chaps & Hunt coats optional. TACK: appropriate for classes is required. Humane schooling equipment is acceptable at the discression of the judge. No Tie downs, gag bits or mechanical hackamores will be allowed. No Cross Entering from Walk/Trot classes into any class calling for a canter/lope. W/Trot riders may enter Warm-up Pleasure Walk/Trot classes No horse may cross enter a western pleasure and a ranch horse pleasure class at the same show No horses led off of the bit if shown on a leadline, must use or cavesson. May be shown English or Western PONY PLEASURE – JUNIOR EXHIBITOR 18 & UNDER WALK/TROT/CANTER (English & Western). Pony being any equid measuring 14.2 hands and under. PONY PLEASURE – JUNIOR EXHIBITOR 18 & UNDER WALK/TROT (English & Western) 4H and FFA members receive a $1 per individual class discount with proof of membership

• Schooling horses using training equipment will not be placed in the performance classes. If you are riding with training aids, please wear your number upside down so the judge knows you’re not to be judged. • are permissible in all under-saddle classes. • Helmets are required for Junior riders in Hunter Pleasure. Helmets are recommended for all riders. • Horses who are entered NOT TO BE JUDGED are not allowed in championship classes. Horses/riders entered NOT TO BE JUDGED must be the appropriate age and discipline for the class. RULES OF CONDUCT • We generally refer to the USEF competition rules as our guidelines, except where otherwise noted. This is NOT a sanctioned event, however, and the judge’s decision is final. • Safety is paramount. Children and pets must be supervised. • Excessive use of whip, spurs, or any other action(s) by an exhibitor, which are considered excessive by the judge and/or show management, might result in the exhibitor being ejected from the competition. • Horses exhibiting unsafe behavior in the show ring will be excused by the judge. • Unsafe and/or unsportsmanlike behavior by exhibitors and/or members of their party could result in ejection from the show grounds. We want our horses and riders to compete in a safe and fun learning environment.

Every entry at a recognized show shall constitute an agreement and affirmation that the person making it, along with the owner, lessee, trainer, managers agent, coach, driver, rider and the horse: (1) shall be subject to the Constitution and the rules of the Association and the local rules of the show; (2) that every horse, rider and/or driver is eligible as entered: (3) that the owner and any of his representatives are bound by the Constitution and rules of THJA and the show and will accept as final the decision of the hearing committee on any question arising under said rules and agree to hold the show, the THJA and their officials, directors and employees harmless for any action taken; that the owner, rider/or driver and any of their agents and representatives agree to hold the THJA, the show, and their officials, directors, employees and agents harmless for any injury or loss suffered during or in connection with the show, whether or not such injury or loss resulted directly or indirectly, form the negligent acts or omission of said officials, directors, employees or agents of the THJA, or show. The laws of the State of Texas govern the construction or application of THJA rules. Warning: Under Texas Law (chapter 87, Civil Practices and Remedies Code,) an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.
