Directory entry Whites 1883 p.158 (1920s or nearest date) A SCHOOL BOARD for the parishes of West Beckham and Bodham was established in 1875, and consists of the Rev. George Bidewell, M.A., chairman, J.H. Pain, C. Rackham, John Everett, and B.B. Barcham. Mr J. Kemp, of East Runton, is the clerk. The SCHOOL, built in 1876, at a cost of £1300, has accommodation for seventy scholars. Kelly 1900 Pg 57 Board School for both parishes (mixed) built in 1877 at a cost of £1,158 for 70 children average attendance 51 Fredrick J Hennion master. Kelly 1912 pg 62 Public Elementary School mixed for both parishes built in 1877at a cost of £1,158 and enlarged in 1910 for 130 children average attendance 84 James Porter master. Walls-note decorative work (flint work, Red brick stone sills. Decorative brick work diaper bricks etc) under eaves. Decorative brickwork over windows with thin stone sill.
