  • “A November to Remember (Or Forget)”
Volume 21 Issue 11 A Congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod November 2020 “A November to Remember (or Forget)” November 2020: a month to remember, or one to forget? For the past seven months, we have all been living through some of the most trying times in recent history for our nation, our world, and for many of us, our individual lives and families. I have heard people say, “We will always remember 2020,” while hearing others say, “I just want to forget 2020!” But a memorable November could be true for you for a number of reasons: shooting the buck of your dreams during this year’s deer hunting season; a special family event or personal achievement; or a memorable Thanksgiving dinner with your family. I do want to encourage you to always remember one thing, not just in November, but every day of the year: Remember all that God has done for us in Christ our Lord! “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.” (Psalm 77:11) “Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David.” (Timothy 2:8) Especially in November this year, regardless of the consequences brought about by a global pandemic, always remember to give thanks to God remembering all that He has done for you in Jesus! I also pray that some of the things that take place at and through Mount Olive will be memorable for you and your family: Sermon Series “Fear Not” : A 4-week series which began in October that helps you tackle fear with practical and divine resources.

WTI + Canadian Crude Outlook V. Natural Gas VI. ATB FMG Forecasts ATB Capital Markets | 2 Quick Take: November Rally One for the Record Books Section I QuickTake: A November to Remember It’s Been A Risk-On Rally All Month Monthly Recap • It’s been a stellar month for financial markets with a risk-on rally pushing equities, commodities, and the Canadian dollar to solid gains. Optimism surrounding vaccines kick-started the move that has led to near record monthly returns across many assets (see heat map below). • The USD dollar drifted lower as traders sold it steadily in pursuit of higher returns elsewhere. CAD, EUR, AUD, and CNY were all prime beneficiaries and currencies linked to commodities and early stage manufacturing processes look set to continue appreciating against the USD. • In commodities, the prospect of tight physical markets across base metals and ags is exerting upward pressure on near term prices as we enter what is expected to be a strong period of global growth in 2021. Usually we would not expect to see undersupplied commodity markets this early in the growth cycle, so this is an unusual dynamic that could be very bullish for prices. Oil prices firmed as well as mobility is expected to rebound and OPEC+ should maintain its commitment to support the market via supply restrictions for another few months. • Equities surged as low policy rates, the prospect of more fiscal stimulus, as well as vaccines pushed most indices to fresh highs – although valuations are also following suit with the S&P 500 forward P/E ratio screening in the 93rd percentile relative to the last 20 years - expensive no matter how you look at it.

This year we decided to give you a little bit more information on the members who died. This was all down to our Club historian, Brian Saxton who came up with the idea that we should visit the graves of the five lads we lost in France and Belgium in the First World War. He wanted to know if members of the club had ever visited the graves.
