He'll share some rather interesting things about the transition to low power digital and will have a working 8VSB translator with him - probably the only one in existence. Or the networks who control all of the content and much of the viewer loyalty? Based on moderator Alan Wolk's controversial piece, "It's Always the Ones You Don't Suspect," this debate will involve much audience participation, shouting, and laughter as we attempt to determine, once and for all, just how the future will play out. -

Abstract When Netflix launched in April 1998, Internet video was in its infancy. Eighteen years later, Netflix has developed into the first truly global Internet TV network. Many books have been written about the five broadcast networks – NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, and the CW – and many about the major cable networks – HBO, CNN, MTV, Nickelodeon, just to name a few – and this is the fitting time to undertake a detailed analysis of how Netflix, as the preeminent Internet TV networks, has come to be. This book, then, combines historical, industrial, and textual analysis to investigate, contextualize, and historicize Netflix's development as an Internet TV network. The book is split into four chapters. The first explores the ways in which Netflix's development during its early years a DVD-by-mail company – 1998-2007, a period I am calling "Netflix as Rental Company" – lay the foundations for the company's future iterations and successes. During this period, Netflix adapted DVD distribution to the Internet, revolutionizing the way viewers receive, watch, and choose content, and built a brand reputation on consumer-centric innovation. -

What Is Your Verdict on Christianity?
What is your verdict on Christianity? So I ask, does Christianity provide a plausible account of the universe both broadly and in its particulars? Does it explain why we are the way we are, and why things are the way they are? Does it make sense of our life experiences? I will conclude our trial with a summation, known in legal terms as a closing argument . [and] we will work through the conclusions reachable from the evidence presented. We will consider the teachings of Scripture along with the world around us. We will see if science, current knowledge and common sense can combine to produce a rich understanding of God and the strength of the foundations for faith. The verdict can then be determined. Each person has to decide how to live in light of the verdict he or she reaches. Christianity on Trial: A Lawyer Examines the Christian Faith • Why did you, a top trial lawyer, decide to write a book about the Christian faith? Isn’t that the jurisdiction of the theologian? Available June 2014 $16, 240 pages, paperback • You say that more and more young people are losing their faith as they leave for college 978-0-8308-3667-3 or the working world, yet they are not hesitant to research and even debate their decisions. • How does Christianity on Trial speak to these educated young adults? • What is legal “burden of proof,” and how do you use it to make a case for Christianity? • What is the difference between direct evidence and circumstantial evidence? How do you use such evidence when examining God and the Christian faith? • Describe some of the witnesses you call to the stand in this case for the Christian faith.
