Open to exceptionally talented musicians between the ages of 12 and 18, the Young Artist Program Leadership provides a unique and comprehensive musical education that features chamber music coachings and performance classes, musicianship and eurhythmics workshops, Dr. Kevin Kwan Loucks career development seminars, participation in monthly guest artist master President classes, and community outreach performances. Last season, select members of Dr. Iryna Krechkovsky the Young Artist Program were hailed as “Future Stars” by New York Concert Vice President, Education Review when they performed alongside Chamber Music | OC principals in New York Ross Gasworth City’s Carnegie Hall. Vice President, Community Engagement Julian Martin, Piano Faculty at The Juilliard School, stated that: “Krechkovsky has Advisory Board established a wonderful training ground for Orange County's young musicians. The impressive, highly polished performances I heard point to an enormous outpouring of John Corigliano knowledge, energy and dedication from the coaches. As for the students, this Eugene Drucker experience will have an inestimable impact on their lives, musical and beyond, for David Finckel years to come." Henk Guittart Wu Han Over the past four seasons, members of the Young Artist Program have participated Julian Martin Robert McDonald in public master classes with guest artists including GRAMMY-winning pianist Emanuel Philip Setzer Ax; and Eugene Drucker and Philip Setzer, violinists of the Emerson String Quartet; Joel Smirnoff and Robert deMaine, Principal Cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. 2017 / 2018 Roger Tapping master class artists include British Concert Cellist Colin Carr; USC Chamber Music Director and Concert Violist Karen Dreyfus; Colburn and Seoul National Programs Violin Faculty Kyung Sun Lee; Juilliard Piano Faculty Julian Martin; and Curtis Institute of Music and Juilliard Piano Faculty Robert McDonald. This year’s Arts Internship Program participants will also work closely with Chamber Music | OC President Dr. Kevin Chamber Music Series Kwan Loucks (The Juilliard School, MM ’04; Stony Brook University, DMA ’13; CMOC Camerata Chapman University, EMBA ’17; Stanford Graduate School of Business, SMM ’17) Community Outreach in professional development and business seminars designed to prepare candidates for Master Class Series Music Inspires the rigors of college entrance procedures. Young Artist Program The Young Artist Program operates on the calendar corresponding with the standard Ensemble-in-Residence academic year, September through June. Participants explore one or more assigned works of chamber music culminating in end-of-the year performances as part of the Trio Céleste annual Rising Stars Recital Series.
