PATRIOTS IN THE COMMUNITY

PATRIOTS PASS OUT OVER 200 THANKSGIVING BASKETS TO FAMILIES IN NEED The New England Patriots helped make the Thanksgiving holiday a little brighter for more than 200 Boston families when they passed out baskets full of food at Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries in Boston on November 20. For the twelfth consecutive year, the team partnered with Goodwill to provide the baskets to individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment who are enrolled in or have recently graduated from a Goodwill job training program. Other basket recipients were families with children who have participated in Goodwill’s youth programs. Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft and his wife, Myra, were on hand to assist in handing out the baskets, along with Patriots players Eric Alexander, Doug Gabriel, Daniel Graham, Kevin Faulk, Larry Izzo, Corey Mays, Ty Warren, Benjamin Watson and Gemara Williams. Several players, including Graham and Watson have participated in the event every year since their rookie seasons. The baskets included turkeys donated by Willow Tree Farms and a wide variety of Thanksgiving items such as vegetables, stuffing and pies that were donated by Shaw’s Supermarkets. MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF MASSACHUSETTS AND PATRIOTS TEAM UP TO GRANT TEXAS BOY’S WISH TO MEET BILL BELICHICK Given the opportunity to wish for anything in the world, 14-year-old Aaron Fannie of Cedar Park, Texas wished to meet New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick. Fannie, who has been diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer, has long admired the coach of the three-time Super Bowl Championship team. During a private meeting in the players dining room, Coach Belichick met with Aaron shortly before last week’s home game versus the New York Jets. Belichick presented Aaron with an official #1 Patriots jersey with Aaron's name on the back. After meeting Belichick, Aaron, his parents Lucas and Laurie Fannie, and his younger brother Drew, age 9, were invited up to the team’s trophy room where they were able to take photos with the Patriots’ three Super Bowl Championship trophies. They then took a trip down to the field to watch pre-game warm-ups from the sidelines before heading up to watch the Patriots vs. Jets game from their fantastic seats in the Fidelity Investments Clubhouse. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts worked to fulfill Aaron’s wish on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and South Texas, Aaron’s local Make-A-Wish Chapter. “We are so appreciative of the tremendous support from The New England Patriots and Coach Belichick with helping to make Aaron’s special wish a reality,” said Charlotte Beattie, CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts. “They continue to be big supporters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” said Beattie. “We’re sure that Aaron will cherish the memories from his wish experience for years to come.” The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is the largest wish granting organization in the world.
