BRIEF BIO OF FELIX EMEKA ANYIAM

Felix Emeka Anyiam is an emerging researcher in the field of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is presently employed as the Research Officer for the Centre for Health and Development (CHD), University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt Nigeria. Felix has been responsible for the smooth running and organization of the office. He coordinates our research projects and trainings. He sources for new opportunities in the Internet in ways the CHD can partner with other international organizations in the area of implementation research and capacity building. He has also worked for the Environmental and Human Health Research Association (ENVHRA) in the capacities of Data Officer and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer before joining us in CHD. His previous research skills from ENVHRA and also Youth PRO-FILE where he volunteers has been very beneficial in what we do in CHD.

Before this, he has been a youth volunteer for Youth PRO-FILE, a University-led, community- based youth organization in Port Harcourt that uses creative methods and materials to give young people information on their health, especially lessons on Family Life Education, HIV/AIDS, and sexually transmitted infections. He has assisted in the co-ordination of HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns/outreaches; supported youths through in-house trainings; assisted in the coordination of Family Life and Reproductive Health Education and also life skills training for Female Sex Workers (FSWs). He has also been involved in providing counseling and advice to young people on growing up, relationships, contraceptives, future career, and education.

He has also been involved in the capacity of a Biostatistician, a Reproductive Health tutor, HIV/AIDS tutor for NGO’s. He has also been involved in the development of monitoring and evaluation instrument, Training and Facilitation at Workshops. He has worked in several capacities for Organizations and Agencies such as University of Toronto Canada, University of Ottawa Canada, FHI, USAID, MacArthur Foundation, UNDP, UNICEF, Ford Foundation, World Bank and National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).

He has a B.Sc. in Human Anatomy and experienced in Monitoring and Evaluation of Health programs, HIV/AIDS and STDs program. He is also experienced in conducting Surveys, assessment, and research activities; and also in Data Entry and Data Analysis.
