he Shanghai Summer School (BRICS Program) 2018 by Fudan University aims to provide students and young Tresearchers from BRICS countries an opportunity to better understand BRICS, China, Shanghai and Fudan University. Introduction to the Curriculum The program provides the participants with around a one-month lectures, consisting of three modules:"Global Governance and Cooperation among BRICS", "China’s Politics and Diplomacy" and "Happy in Shanghai", among which "Global Governance and Cooperation among BRICS", "China’s Politics and Diplomacy" take 4 credits.

udan University (simplified Chinese:复旦大学 ; traditional Chinese: 復旦大學 ; pinyin: FFùdàn Dàxué), located in Shanghai, China, is one of the most prestigious and selective universities in China. It is consistently ranked in the world's top 100 most academic universities. It is also a member in the C9 League. Its institutional predecessor was founded in 1905, shortly before the end of China's imperial Qing dynasty. Fudan is now composed of four campuses in downtown Shanghai, including Handan ( 邯郸 ), Fenglin ( 枫林), Zhangjiang ( 张江), and Jiangwan ( 江湾), which share the same central administration. Fudan is home to about 40, 000 students and staffs. There are 11 Level I national key academic disciplines and 19 Level II national key academic disciplines. 4 CAMPUS LIFE

Foreign Students Dormitory Fudan Foreign Students Dormitory is located northwest of Fudan campus. The Students’ cafeteria and the Gym are behind the Foreign Students Dormitory. The lobby of the main building includes: reception desk, mini- supermarket, reading area, mail boxes and a 24- hour reception desk service. All rooms in the main building are equipped with balcony, air- conditioner, private bathroom and Internet portal.

Guanghua Towers Guanghua Towers are on the main campus. It takes the main teaching tasks in academic terms, and consists of four buildings: east and west main buildings, and east and west supplementary buildings. The Center for BRICS Studies is located on the 9th floor of the west main building (simplified Chinese: 西 (xī) 主 (zhǔ) 楼 (lóu)).

Catering There are two student canteens on the campus. One is Beiyuan Canteen (simplified Chinese: 北 (běi) 苑 (yuàn) 餐 (cān) 厅 (tīng)) to the southeast of Foreign Students Dormitory, the other is Danyuan Canteen (simplified Chinese: 旦 (dàn) 苑 (yuàn) 餐 (cān) 厅 (tīng)) not far away from Guanghua Towers.

Student Card You will receive a student card from the Center. A student card is commonly used to pay for the dishes in the student restaurant of the north area. It is a digital financial account that a student can see it as a debit card used in the University. The deposite in the card can be increased, in either a student canteen or the 1st floor of Guanghua Towers, by converting cash or transferring from a real debit card or credit card.

Shopping Shanghai Education Store is a small supermarket near Foreign Students Dormitory. It sells foods, drinks and daily commodities but without alcoholic beverages and cigarettes. Wal-Mart, the nearest supermarket, is to the east of the University and at the cross of Zhengtong Road and Songhu Road which are two kilometers away from here. The malls such as Shanghai the First Food, Wanda (simplified Chinese: 万 (wàn) 达 (dá)), and Bailian Youyicheng (simplified Chinese: 百 (bǎi) 联 (lián) 又 (yòu) 一 (yī) 城 (chéng)) are near Wal-Mart.

hanghai ( 上海 ) is the largest city in China, and one of Sthe largest metropolitan areas in the world, with over 20 million people. Located on China's central eastern coast, it just lies at the mouth of the Yangtze River. Originally a fishing and textiles town, Shanghai grew to importance in the 19th century due to its favorable port location and as one of the cities opened to foreign trade by the 1842 Treaty of Nanking. The City flourished as a center of commerce between east and west, and became a multinational hub of finance and business by the 1930s.A fter 1990, the economic reforms introduced by Deng Xiaoping resulted in intense re-development and financing in Shanghai, and in 2005 Shanghai became the world's largest cargo port. Today, Shanghai is the largest center of commerce and finance in mainland China, and has been described as the "showpiece" of the world's fastest-growing major economy.

• Jinmao Tower Jinmao Tower is a symbol of 21st century Shanghai, at 88 stories, a super high-rise that is 420.5 meters tall, making it the second tallest building in China. It is located along the Huangpu Riverthat previously housed banks and trading houses from the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Italy, Russia, and elsewhere. It now has 52 buildings in various architectural styles - Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neo- classical, Beaux-Art, and Art Deco - harmonious in color and style, giving it the name "Gallery of World Architecture".

• Xintiandi (New Heaven and Earth) Xintiandi is considered as one of China’s first lifestyle centers as a pedestrian shopping, dining and entertainment area consisting of restored traditional Shikumen houses in narrow alleys, a modern shopping mall with cinema complex, and some adjoining houses turned into bookstores, cafes and restaurants, most of which provide both indoor and outdoor seating houses, as well as an art gallery. The Metro Shopping Plaza is located under-ground and bustles with the flow of enthusiastic shoppers. • Nanjing Road Pedestrian Walkway Nanjing Road has been referred to as “China’s No.1 Street” and is the epitome of Shanghai history and culture. The 1,033-meter-long pedestrian walkway stretches from the Bund to People's Square and is lined with 600 shops, from some, 100 years old, to famous-brand ones, to specialty shops.
