In 2020, we had some very strong stories of innovation and leadership, several of them focused on how chief information officers and other technology chiefs have responded to the devastating global COVID-19 pandemic. We received entries from tech execs working at a broad range of public and private sector organisations. This year has been extremely challenging forCIO50: all of us Australia’s and with themost COVID-19 innovative threat CIOs still around, it was not surprising that Australia's healthcare, government, retail and education sectors provided some of the most compelling stories of leadership and resilience. Collaboration, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data analytics, automation and robotics technologies are once again this year helping many organisations improve the services that are provided to internal and external customers to help them achieve their strategic objectives. Businesses across many industries have been faced with some of the worst economic conditions in many years. Despite this, our tech leaders have shown real leadership and delivered technology solutions that will help their organisations meet their business challenges for years to come.
