State Regents for Higher Education Tulsa Reconciliation Scholarship Program

Nomination Information for 2020-21

The Tulsa Reconciliation Scholarship Program was created and funded by the Oklahoma Legislature in an effort to help preserve awareness of the history and meaning of the civil unrest that occurred in Tulsa in 1921.

ADMINISTRATION

The provisions of 70 O.S. 2001, Section 2623 et seq., name the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education as the administrator of the Tulsa Reconciliation Scholarship Program. The State Regents’ office will work closely with the Tulsa School District in the selection process of the scholarship recipients.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 Enrollment in one of Tulsa Public High Schools. 1. Booker T. Washington High School 2. Central High School 3. East Central High School 4. Thomas Edison Preparatory High School 5. Nathan Hale High School 6. Tulsa McClain High School for Science and Technology 7. Memorial High School 8. High School 9. Daniel Webster High School 10. Tulsa School of Arts and Science 11. Tulsa Resource and Adolescent Intervention Center of Excellence (TRAICE)

 Family income must not exceed $70,000 from taxable sources.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS

Each Tulsa Public High School is allowed to nominate two high school seniors. Completed nomination forms are to be returned to the State Regents’ office at: Tulsa Reconciliation Scholarship Program, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Post Office Box 108850, Oklahoma City, OK 73101- 8850. The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2020.

NOTICE OF AWARD

State Regents’ staff will review all nomination forms and supporting documentation. Upon approval, the State Regents’ office will send an award letter to each recipient. Prior to the beginning of the fall semester, the State Regents’ office will notify the Oklahoma institution or career technology center that the scholarship recipient plans to attend.
