Reflection Questions for the Readings for January 24, 2021 The responsorial psalm implores, “Teach me your ways, O Lord.” Who have been the spiritual mentors and guides who have helped you learn the ways of God? St. Paul tells the Corinthians, “The world in its present form is passing away.” What are the greatest changes you see within the world at this moment? How are we called to respond to these changes as people of faith? Jesus calls Simon and Andrew to follow him and become “fishers of men.” How does your parish community live out this call? In today’s gospel the disciples are called in pairs and together they leave their livelihoods and families to follow Je- sus. Who are your closest collaborators and partners in living out the Christian life?

I will bring the snowballs and shields to protect ourselves from the arsenals and we will have a snowball fight. The best part is that we don’t have to wait for snow! I will wear a mask, sanitize, stay outside and social distance for the protection of all that are involved. The snowballs are washed after every fight and the shields are sanitized. Please let me know and we will set up a day and time to have a snowball fight. 8th Grade Religious Ed Retreat Last weekend we had a Confirmation Retreat for our Religious Education students. We had our 3 8th graders attend and share a wonderful experience. We walked to Sureway and bought food for a needy family. We toured the Bell Tour and Fr. Thomas Tierney’s burial site as well as attending mass and serving as ministers of hospitality. We spent some time in our chapel praying for the Holy Spirit to help us be a disciple of God as we prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation. This small amount of time allowed them to reflect and connect with the sacrament they are about to receive.
