When it’s Winter...We Play Ga-Ga in the Pool By Ellen Weismer, Director, Camp Shalom

During winter break, we offered four days of Winter Camp Shalom to campers in grades K-5. This year was our 6th and largest winter camp to date! Campers celebrated Hanukkah, played Dreidel, created arts and crafts projects, bounced on inflatables, and participated in outdoor activities! The unusually warm(er) temperatures allowed campers to experience the Goodman Jewish Community Campus in new ways. Campers went on hikes, built outdoor forts, and played Ga-Ga (a favorite camp game) in the empty Goodman Aquatic Center pool. The last two days of programming included a two-day Winter Maccabiah. The campers and staff divided into a blue team and a yellow team. They competed in brain games, active competitions, and team building events. Winter Camp Shalom was the perfect way to reconnect with former campers and meet new campers. We hope to see everyone for Camp Shalom Summer 2020!
