SPORT FISHING FROM COMMERCIALLY LICENSED VESSELS. {a) No person may sport fish from a salmon hand troll or power troll vessel, as those vessels are identified by the marking requirements of 5 AAC 39.270 {c) and {d), in any area except thal this prohibition does not apply: { 1) to charter vessels; and
{2) in derby areas during derbies authorized by the department.
{b) The owner or operator of a charter vessel must register thal vessai annually with the department before the vessel is used for sport fishing.
{c) Each person who sport fishes from a vassel licensed for commercial fishing, including a charter vessel, in waters closed to commercial salmon fishing shall, immediately upon boating, mark each salmon by removing its dorsal {large back) fin.
{d) Sport fishing is illegal in areas closed to commercial fishing while commercially-caught troll salmon are in possession.

SPORT FISHING FROM COMMERCIALLY LICENSED VESSELS. (a) No person may sport fish from a salmon hand troll or power troll vessel, as those vessels are identified by the marking requirements of 5 AAC 39.270 (c) and (d), in any area except thal this prohibition does not apply: (1) to charter vessels; and
(2) in derby areas during derbies authorized by the department.
(b) The owner or operator of a charter vessel must register thal vessel annually with the department before the vassel is used for sport fishing.
(c) Each person who sport fishes from a vessel licensed for commercial fishing, including a charter vessel, in waters closed to commercial salmon fishing shall, immediately upon boating, mark each salmon by removing its dorsal (large back) fin.
(d) Sport fishing is illegal in areas closed to commercial fishing while commercially· caught troll salmon are in possession.

OTHER KENAI PENINSULA AREA REGULATIONS
HARVEST RECORD REQUIRED. (a) A nontransferable, harvest record is required annually, and must be in the possession of each person sport fishing for: (1) king salmon 20 inches or more in length, in the Kenai Peninsula streams open to king salmon fishing; (2) rainbow/steelhead trout 20 inches or more in length in the waters of the Kenai Peninsula area which flow into Cook lnlet. (b) lmmediately upon landing a king salmon or rainbow/steelhead trout from the waters referred to in (a) of this section, the angler must enter the information requested on the harvest record. (c) Nothing in this section affects or modifies any daily bag or possession limits provided by regulation in this chapter. The yearly limit for the combined Kenai Peninsula area, the Cook !niel-Resurrection Bay Salt Water area, and the Susitna-West Cook lnlet area is: (1) live king salmon, 20 inches or more in length; (2) live rainbow/steelhead trout 20 inches or more in length when taken from the Kenai Peninsula drainages flowing into Cook lnlet.
KENAI RIVER GUIDING REQUIREMENTS. (a) Before guiding sport fishermen on the Kenai River, each guide and vesse! must be registered at the department's Soldotna office by completing a form provided by the department. The following information must be provided: ( 1) name of the individual or company owning the guiding service; (2) permanent residence address and local residence address, including mailing address, of each owner or company; (3) name, residence address, and mailing address of each guide employed in the guiding service; (4) the permanent vessellicense plate number (AOF&G number) for each vesse! used in the guiding service; (5) a photostatic copy of the Alaska Business license of the company or individual owning the guiding service. (b) The department will issue an identification sticker for each vesse! registered and a log book for each guide for recording catches. No person may guide or use a vesse! in guiding without prior registration with the department. (c) The department identification sticker must be attached to a permanent part of the vesse! and displayed adjacent to and in the same manner as the vessellicense plate number (AOF&G number). (d) Each registered guide is responsible for completing a log book available from the department's Soldotna office. The log book must be kept in the possession on each guide while conducting guiding activities. For each party guided during a single day the guiçle must complete an entry in the log book for each day. The following information must be provided: ( 1 ) be fore the departure on each guided trip (A) the vessel's AOF&G number (if no vesse! is used, enter "bank"); (B) date; J (C) client's name and sport fish license number, or age if no license is required ; (0) guide's name and sport fish license number if he intends to fish; 1 (2) immediately upon completion of each guided trip (A) each client's total daily catch retained for each species; (B) each client's total daily catch released for each species; (C) guide's total daily catch retained for each species; (0) guide's total daily catch released for each species; (3) upon completion of each day of guiding, the guide must sign the appropriate page in the log book. (e) The log book may be examined by an authorized representative oflhe department or the Oepartment of Public Safety upon request. The log book must be returned to the department no later than October 31 of each year unless otherwise specified by the department. (f) No guide may assis! any client in any manner in an action thal is contrary to Alaska sport fishing regulations currently in effect. (g) For the purpose of this section, "guiding" means assisting another person to lake fish with the intent of receiving monetary or material remuneration for services, by accompanying and directing thal person personally for the duration, or any portion, of a fishing trip, and not solely for the purpose of providing transportation services. (h) Catch information will not be released in the form of individual records by the department.
