Position: Quality Control Specialist Location: New Berlin, Wisconsin Job Status: Full-time Reports to: Manager of Operations

Position Overview:

Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor programming for the American Sportsman, is seeking a full-time, entry-level Quality Control Specialist in our New Berlin, Wisconsin office. This individual will primarily be responsible for viewing and checking all content for technical and ethical standards, as well as footage for promotional use and other tasks in the programming department.

Minimum Position Responsibilities:

• Time code and check all Sportsman Channel shows for ethical and quality standards according to established guidelines. • Check all programming content for use in various platforms, including Sportsman Channel on Demand. • Create closed captioning files for air in conjunction with producer programs; does not require transcribing. • Identify quality footage for use in advertising and marketing. • Communicate effectively with producers about ways to improve the quality of their content. • Perform all other duties that may be assigned to meet business needs.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Enthusiasm for the hunting, shooting and / or fishing lifestyle is required. • Self-starter that demonstrates initiative. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction. • Ability to work under time pressure deadlines. • Ability to work as team player. • Ability to multi-task and shift concentration from one project to another as needed. • Comprehension of written / verbal information and instruction as well as the ability to convey information effectively. • Problem solving, coordination and troubleshooting necessary to efficiently fulfill job duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Radio/TV/Film or a comparable field. • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. • Knowledge of video/audio production equipment and linear/non-linear editing.
