1 ARMS : IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS 1. All arms are sold subject to the provisions of the Arms Act 2005 and Regulations (LN 177) and are listed in the catalogue under their Schedule heading together with the relevant licence requirements. 2. Prospective bidders are to ensure that they are in possession of the correct Police Licences before placing their bids. We shall endeavour to guide non-licensed bona-fide bidders through the required channels for the acquisition of a licence. 3. Bidding will only be accepted from persons who have registered their details with us and obtained a bidding number. 4. Successful bidders must collect their invoices and settle their dues in full before leaving the auction room. Items not requiring a licence may be collected at the end of the auction. 5. In the case of firearms from Schedules I to III, after settling their invoices, clients are to immediately refer to our consultant to arrange for their applications to be submitted to the Police. 6. All firearms will be kept in safe storage until the client obtains Police authorisation to enable them to collect their firearms. GENERAL NOTES 1. Overseas and local bidders may wish to make use of telephone bidding by filling in a bid form and writing “phone” instead of the bid value. We shall then call them a few minutes before the lot is up for auction and bid on their behalf. 2. The term “original condition” signifies that the item retains its original state and finish; refinished or restored pieces are described accordingly. 3. Any form of third-party soliciting during the viewing or auction is strongly prohibited. Obelisk Auctions reserve the right to request the removal of anyone who violates this condition. Conditions of Business Participation in the viewing or in the sale is tantamount to full acceptance of the following conditions In his role as Auctioneer of Lots, the Auctioneer acts solely for, and in the interest of the Seller. When the Auctioneer or his Representatives make statements about a Lot, they are doing so on behalf of the Seller of the Lot and any statements are statements of opinion only. Bidders and Buyers are strongly advised to seek and obtain independent advice on the Lots, on their state and their value before bidding for them. 1. We reserve the right at our sole discretion, to refuse admission to the premises of viewing or of the sale without stating a reason. We have complete discretion as to whether the sale proceeds, whether any Lot is included in the sale and the manner in which the sale is conducted. 2. We have complete discretion to refuse any bid, to nominate any bidding increment we consider appropriate, to divide any Lot, to combine two or more Lots and in the event of a dispute, to put up any Lot for auction again. 2 3. All Bidders must, prior to an auction, complete a ‘Registration Form’ and show a means of identity (such as an Identity Card), to the Auctioneer or his Representatives. 4. The buyer shall be the Bidder who makes the highest bid acceptable to the Auctioneer for any Lot (subject to the applicable Reserve), to whom the Lot is knocked down by the Auctioneer at the striking of the Auctioneer’s hammer. Any dispute as to the highest acceptable bid will be settled by the Auctioneer at his absolute discretion. 5. Each Lot is sold as is and as viewed by the Buyer with all faults and defects if any. Buyers shall provide their name, address, identity card number and pay a deposit of not less than 10% (ten per cent) of the total hammer price at which the Lot was purchased. Only bank drafts and cash are accepted as payment for Lots. 6. No purchase shall be claimed or removed until it has been paid in full and the sale has been concluded. All purchases shall be removed at the Buyer’s risk and expense within two days from the sale, failing which, the Auctioneer shall not be responsible if same are lost, stolen or damaged. Failure to pay and remove all Lots purchased may incur interest, the payment of insurance cover, packaging expenses, transport expenses and storage charges at the Auctioneer’s sole discretion. 7. Buyers shall pay the hammer price together with a premium/commission of 5% (five per cent) of the hammer price. The premium/commission attracts VAT at the current applicable rate (18%, eighteen per cent) and is payable by the Buyer. Buyers are also liable to pay stamp duty at the rate of €6.06 on every €232.94 or part thereof. 8. Only on the payment of the purchase price in full to us will the title of the Lot pass to the Buyer. However, the risk of the Lot is passed to the Buyer when it is knocked down to the said Buyer. 9. The Auctioneer or his Representatives do not issue any representation or warranty. 10. No one shall be allowed to enter the premises of the viewing or of the sale with bags or umbrellas. 11. None of the Auctioneer’s agents or his Representatives has any authority to alter, vary or qualify in any way these Conditions of Business. 12. Buyers give the Auctioneer all rights to use and publish any photographs and images of Lots sold at any time and at his absolute discretion. 13. The Auctioneer is not responsible for life and limb on the premises during the viewing, sale and after the auction. 14. All measurements/weights given in the sale catalogue are approximate, include frame sizes and are in centimetres (cm). Lot Numbers refer to the item as described in the catalogue and do not include anything that may be inside drawers, cupboards etc. 3 MILITARIA 001 A British WWI Brodee helmet. Complete with chinstrap but liner missing. Re- € 150 - € 230 issued during WWII and complete with original "Rubble War" camouflage. Fair condition. Rare. 002 A British WWII Civil Defence helmet complete with its original finish and liner. € 60 - € 90 Chinstrap missing. Maker marked and dated 1941. Some dents, good condition. 003 A West German post-WWII Fireman's helmet complete with liner and chinstrap. € 120 - € 180 Retains its full original finish. Excellent condition. 004 A Third Reich German M38 Luftwaffe Paratrooper helmet shell only. Eagle decal € 130 - € 200 and tropical sand finish. Excellent condition. REPLICA 005 A Third Reich German M35 Army helmet complete with liner and chinstrap. € 115 - € 180 Double-decal and field-grey finish with snow camo. Excellent condition. REPLICA 006 An American post-WWII helmet complete with its liner and chinstrap. Retaining € 70 - € 110 some of its green paint finish. Chinstrap missing. Good condition. 007 An American post-WWII helmet complete with its liner and chinstrap. Refinished € 80 - € 120 in green. Chinstrap missing. Good condition. 008 A WWII British Union Jack flag. Large size 9'x 4.5'. Kant marked "Jack" and three € 200 - € 300 digits. Some fading and fraying from use. 009 A British 4.5 inch artillery brass cartridge dated 1939 mounted with a replica shell € 150 - € 230 in wood. Excellent condition. 010 A British 3.7 inch artillery brass cartridge dated 1940 mounted with a replica shell € 150 - € 230 in wood. SCHEDULE III - EDGED WEAPONS 012 A German Third Reich Heer sword by Horster, Solingen. Complete with its original € 180 - € 270 scabbard. Grip wire missing. Fair condition. 013 An Ottoman Court Sword circa 1880. Ornate brass scabbard with mother of pearl € 120 - € 180 grips. No scabbard. Good condition. 014 An American freemason sword circa 1920 by Lilley, Ohio (Blade marked € 200 - € 300 "Germany"). Etched blade with name "Harry C. Richards". Complete with its ornate nickel scabbard bearing the same name. An interesting sword. Good condition. 015 Two British M1907 bayonets for the No.1 Mk III rifle. Both missing scabbards. Fair € 60 - € 90 condition. 016 A British Singer No. 4 Mk I cruciform spike bayonet complete with its scabbard. € 250 - € 380 WWII issue. Both stamped "No.4 Mk I" and "SM" for Singer manufacture. Excellent original condition. Rare. 017 A British L1A2 knife bayonet for the L1A1 rifle. Complete with its scabbard. Miniature of the M1866 bayonet and used € 250 - € 380 with the small cadet rifle. Complete with its scabbard. Excellent original condition. Very rare. 021 An Imperial German Mod 98/05 "Ersatz" all-steel bayonet. WWI issue. Hilt retains € 40 - € 60 some green paint. Scabbard repainted black. Fair condition. 022 A Romanian bayonet for the AK47 assault rifle. Complete with its (wire-cutter) € 25 - € 40 scabbard and leather frog.
