Povazsay stormed on to the collegiate swimming scene his freshman year at WVU, winning 29 events throughout the course of the season. Povazsay took to the 2007 NCAA Championships pool as a true freshman and earned All-America honors with the seventh- place 200 free relay team. He also earned honorable mention All-America honors with the 11th-place 400 free relay squad and the 16th-place 400 medley relay squad. Just three weeks earlier, Povazsay won six events at the BIG EAST Championships, garnering BIG EAST Male Swimmer of the Year honors, only the second Moun- taineer ever to do so.
