Pride Points Grants Blockwatch Alliance This year, GLDC provided mini-grants to The Greater Linden Blockwatch Alliance meets on the second Tuesday of each month Linden area organizations and residents to at 7pm in the Point of Pride building. The Alliance provides an opportunity for Linden promote Linden Pride. These pictures show Blockwatch members, other residents and business owners to become acquainted some of the results of how funds were used. with the police liaison officers for the 5th and 2nd Precincts. Also, speakers present information on crime reduction topics. Linden Litter League volunteers pick up litter on the third Saturday of each month from April through August. The Season Opener in April is also a community-wide clean-up event which often in- cludes a tire round-up. In 2012, volunteers gave over 1,000 hours of time and collected nearly 900 bags of trash. Besides collecting litter, they cleaned alleys, removed graffiti and took more than 5 tons of tires out of Linden. In 2013, Litter League teams removed nearly 10 tons of tires and collected nearly 800 bags of litter.
