There are two types of goats: domestic goats Capra hircus , which are raised and bred as farm animals; and mountain goats Oreamnos americanus , which live in steep, rocky areas in the American Northwest. Mountain goats can weigh from to lbs. Their black horns grow up to 8 to 12 inches 20 to 30 cm long. They do not shed their horns, so a goat's age can be determined by counting the annual growth rings. One of the smallest breeds, the Nigerian dwarf goat, weighs about 20 lbs. Pygmy goats weigh from 53 to 86 lbs. The Anglo-Nubian goat weighs up to lbs. The wide spread of their cloven hooves allows them to climb steep mountain sides with ease. They usually live in elevations of 3, to 16, feet 1, to 5, meters above sea level. Domestic goats are raised all over the world in almost every type of terrestrial biomes. The main habitat requirements for a domestic goat are grass to eat and a clean, ventilated shelter, according to the ADW. Excellent surprise! Real good movie and what a cast!!! I am a David Duchovny and Vera Farmiga fan, and they were great, but the 16 year old who was the star don't know his name really outperformed everybody. Great job! The movie was funny, it definitely was a comedy, but had its moments of sadness and reflection too. I do have to come back to great and varied cast though, not just the big names, but also the room mate at the school, the girl at the school, the boyfriend only know him as "Andy" from "Weeds" , the Dad Modern Family guy , the girlfriend, really liked them all. Worldwide, the population size of Siberian musk deer is threatened by severe illegal poaching for commercially valuable musk and meat, habitat losses, and forest fire. At present, this species is categorized as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. However, the genetic information of Siberian musk deer is largely unexplored. Results: Here, we produced 3.10 Gb draft assembly of wild Siberian musk deer with a contig N50 of 29,145 bp and a scaffold N50 of 7,955,248 bp. We annotated 19,363 protein-coding genes and estimated 44.44% of the genome to be repetitive. Our phylogenetic analysis reveals that wild Siberian musk deer is closer to Bovidae than to Cervidae. Comparative analyses showed that the genetic features of Siberian musk deer adapted in cold and high-altitude environments. We sequenced two additional genomes of Siberian musk deer constructed demographic history indicated that changes in effective population size corresponded with recent glacial epochs. Finally, we identified several candidate genes that may play a role in the musk secretion based on transcriptome analysis. Conclusions: Here, we present a high-quality draft genome of wild Siberian musk deer, which will provide a valuable genetic resource for further investigations of this economically important musk deer.

Musk deer (genus Moschus), an endangered mammal, is not only of great concern for its conservation, but it is also of great interest to understand its taxonomic and phylogenetic associations in Nepal. The aim of this study was to identify the taxonomic status of musk deer in Gaurishankar Conservation Area (GCA) using mitochondrial genomic data of cytochrome b (370 bps) through phylogenetic analysis of all the species of musk deer. The results showed that the species found in GCA is confirmed as Himalayan musk deer Moschus leucogaster, further expanding its distributional range in Nepal. El ciervo almizclero del Himalaya (género Moschus), un mamífero amenazado, no es solo objeto de gran preocupación por lo que respecta a su conservación sino también de gran interés para entender sus asociaciones taxonómicas y filogenéticas en Nepal. El objetivo de este estudio ha sido identificar el estatus taxonómico del ciervo almizclero del Himalaya en el Área de Conservación de Gaurishankar (GCA) utilizando datos genómicos mitocondriales del citocromo b (370 bps) mediante análisis filogenéticos de todas las especies de ciervo almizclero.
