TECHNICAL SITE TOURS

CITY RAIL LINK Delegates will enjoy a guided walking tour of Auckland’s City Rail Link (CRL) – the largest transport infrastructure project ever to be undertaken in New Zealand. – The CRL is a 3.45km twin-tunnel underground rail link up to 42 metres below the Auckland city centre. – It will transform the downtown Britomart Station into a two-way through-station that better connects the Auckland rail network. – It allows the rail network to at least double rail capacity. Building CRL in the middle of a built-up city is no small task and the specific location of the tour will be finalised in the shortly.

WIRI ELECTRIC MULTIPLE UNIT (EMU) MAINTENANCE & STABLING FACILITY DEPOT – TRANSDEV & AUCKLAND TRANSPORT Auckland Transport procured electric trains to meet the latest developments in railway technology and provide a reliable, comfortable and energy efficient mode of transport across the Auckland Railway Network. Delegates will enjoy a guided tour of the purpose-built facility comprising a maintenance building, rail track sidings, stabling area for 28 trains, a train wash, offices to house maintenance staff and train operators and a visit to the simulator.

Visit the event website to view the specific times and PPE requirements for each tour. The site tours are included as part of your registration, but reservations are required. Reserve your place when registering for the conference.
