I. Requirements for Windows Mobile Device Center

• To find out whether your version of or Windows 7 is 32-bit or 64-bit, click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties. The version is listed after System Type.

• You can use Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 only with phones running or later. ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center won’t work with Windows Embedded CE 4.2 or 5.0, Pocket PC 2002, or 2002 devices. (To see which Windows Mobile you’re using, and if your phone doesn’t have a touch screen, click Start > Settings > About. If your phone has a touch screen, click Start > Settings > System tab > About.) To sync content to any of these devices, you must use a USB or serial cable and your computer’s Internet connection and File Explorer.

• You must use 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to sync your e-mail, contacts, tasks, and notes from your computer.

• You must use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer the first time you use Windows Mobile Device Center to sync.

Loading Instructions of Windows Mobile Device Center from CD TRM_PDT1 A copy of the installation files for Windows 7 Mobile Device Center are on the CD “TRM_PDT1” .

1. To see if you need to install Windows 7 Mobile Device Center: Left click on “Start” Left click on “All Programs” If “Windows Mobile Device Center” appears on the list of “All Programs” then proceed to installation of TRM_PDT1. See document PDTN07599 “Set MOBILeTE”.

If “Windows Mobile Device Center” does not appear on the list of “All Programs” then continue to step #2 below.

2. Place CD TRM_PDT1 in CDROM drive.

3. From your desktop or Start menu, double click on My Computer to open an Explore Window.

5. In the Explore window for TRM_PDT1, double left click on the folder “Windows Mobile Device Center”.

6. In the Explore window for Windows Mobile Device Center, double left click on “drvupdate-amd64” to start the installation of Windows Mobile Device Center.

7. At user account control prompt, left click ‘yes’ to allow the following Program to make changes to this computer.

8. When installation is complete, the installation windows will disappear “left click on Start, then left click on All Programs and you should see “Windows Mobile Device Center” in the list.

AllProgramsMenu.jpg 9. Close Windows explorer by left clicking on the red X and remove the CD TRM_PDT1 from the CD/DVD drive.

10. Reboot.

Open URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device- center-download.mspx

1. At Download “Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1”, left click download “64 bit version”.

2. At “Validation Required”, left click Continue:

3. At “Genuine Microsoft Software”, left click Download:

Installing.jpg 6. Locate User Account prompt in toolbar, left click the icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

7. At User Account Control Window, left click Yes to allow the following program to make changes to this computer. Installation progress:

IV. Windows Mobile Device Center E-Mail Prompt

Note: If a Default E-mail Program is not installed in your Windows 7 PC, you will be required to Left Click OK to the following prompt each time you connect your PDT to your PC using Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. This prompt is native to Windows Mobile Device Center and is not within our control to modify. You will need to install Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to eliminate this prompt from your system permanently.
